Car decisions?

So as many of you know, because I'm so poor, I lease my car.

My dilema is thus:

My E60 is due for return in March 2012 (although I can start the replacement process if I have completed over half the lease term). Come September, I will be instructing the BMW dealer to find me a <1 year old F10 535i Sport auto. The chances of them completing this in a 6 month time frame to my spec is pretty slim partly because there are currenlty no 535i M Sport F10s on the AUC site. This saddens me, but the situation is unlikely to change any time soon. In addition to this, although I have no idea how they could improve the car through their LCI process, I will effectively end up with a pre LCI car, and at the end of the next 3 year lease period will only have the option of the F10 again (no new 5 series available).

My options:

Chop in the E60 and buy a 2010 E9x M3 for 3 years

(4 door saloon, but I really like them!)

Chop in the E60 and buy a 2009 Jag XKR for 3 years

Chop in the E60 and buy a 997 911 for 3 years

Chop in the E60 and lease a Jag XF

Chop in the E60 and lease an F10 535i M Sport assuming they can find one.

I have no family at present but am planning on getting married next year and kids will likely follow, God willing, a few years after.

Do I take this chance to own something mental for a few years or continue on the sensible luxo barge route?

What would you choose and why?

If it's the 535 you want, I wouldn't avoid it just because there won't be another 5 by the time you need to change again - look at your options then.

That said, I'd take an E90/2 M3 over an F10 any day.

Have the Jag, if you like the shape they are just superb, and a bit different from the usual BMW. (XKR that is)

911 all day long get a good one and the deprecation curve isn't too bad then go back to luxo barges or uber dog wagons when you've got the kids well that's my plan anyway

The only two I would lease are the F10 or the XF, the others I'd buy. The XKR is certainly impressing me, not a massive fan of the inside though

Ah i thought you were on about leasing all of them, why are you considering leasing a 5 series or XF and the rest to buy?

Re-read the OP

Call me thick, but where does one lease a used car from? I've only ever heard of Alphabet etal leasing new cars. Unless I've got the wrong end of the stick and you mean taking out a loan?

You can get used lease cars, but it's more difficult finding what you want.

My step dad leases now and again and sometimes deals come up on a year or two old car.

It's usually when someone has taken on say a 3 year lease, but after 2 years they don't want it anymore. Think of it as kind of sub leasing :p Someone else will take over the last year of the lease.

He's having a leased A6 derv delivered next week as a hack to keep the miles off the 911, and to get away from your typical estate agent image when he turns up at peoples houses!

I'm quite looking forward to having a go in a weird way.

Ahh if it's a PCP thing then ignore my thing about taking over an existing lease :)

Can't say I've ever seen an estate agent driving a 911!!

Thought it was always one of those stereotypes! Not that I'm complaining as I get to borrow it a lot :p

OK, I am adding XKR to the list now. Realistically though, it would probably be the 4.2 Supercharged unless the 5l supercharged drops in the next year or so (which it will).

It is a serious contender. Again, the interior doesn't set my world on fire, but my word, the exterior is amazing.

Does anyone know the major changes to what I assume is a facelift between the 4.2 and 5 litre?
