in process of a upgrade going to be i7 asus motherboard ,currently have ati 4850 512mb,was going to add another and crossfire , but that will cost me £70/£80 for a new one , not a problem , but will i be better off selling mine on for £30/£40 and just getting one new one max i estimate at £120.

what you guys recon cheers.

Defiantly sell the 4850 and get a 5850/460 1GB. They are miles better, have more vram and are not dependent on drivers/games for CF/SLI performance. Maybe pick up a second hand 5850, I've seen some stonking bargains lately

Buy another 2nd hand 4850 for £30/40

that was my original plan , but most are the twin slot and ill loose another slot they dont seem to have a lot in the newer boards as it is.

the single slot seem hard to come by and make a bit more than the £30/40 reason i quoted the above price rather pay £20 more for something new with a garuntee.

cheers.

I hear you on the guarantee, having that piece of mind that you can RMA a new card if problems occur is always good comfort. I recently went down that road of new over 2nd hand but could not resist the 2 x 5870s I got for £270.And touch wood they are running fine

I think also the fact it is a 512mb card might be a waste going crossfire with 4850s

Let us know what you decide

got a good deal on a second hand 6850 off a mate, only a month old £80 .

only leaves me with the cpu and motherboard to get cpu i know ,but motherboard still got big questions over.
