Mercedes World

Hello all,

At Mercedes World at the moment, they have an exhibition going on....

...and I really wouldn’t mind having a gander.

My question is, has anyone ever been there? Do they charge admission to these sorts of things?

As Vintage said, there is no admission fee as such. Best thing is to give them a call and check the exhibition is the same (I would expect so).

We had a James Bond themed Xmas party in there a couple of years ago - was good fun. I think at one point during the late evening, I drunkenly tried to climb in their Merc 600 Grosser

Make a day of it and go to the Brooklands Museum too.

That 'exploded' Mercedes is actually a BAR Honda from 2003 with a couple of additions. The engine is Mercs V8 from last year though.

Defiantly do this too, its well worth a visit.

Its crazy to see the abuse cars get a MBW with kids climbing all over the bodywork and swinging from door handles. It seemed like there was a under 10s Birthday going on the time I went.

I went there a few years back, very nice. They let you sit in all the cars there (apart from f1 and a old 90's le mans car which nearly killed Mark Webber). They do track day things there in AMG sports cars, a few Mclaren SLR's round the back.

Quite annoyed that they only did 'Mercedes Benz Live' once. It was great, and free!

Theres also a qtr mile drag strip I mean road upto MB

Was funny booting the bike full tilt along that road, mate said all the people watching the skid pan stuff turned to stare, obviously did that on the way out!

Thats worth knowing - I am often at the Brooklands industrial estate delivering to Tesco's didtribution centre there, I'll have to have a look next time I'm there.

Yes, just in case anyone needs to give their wife or GF a bit of additional incentive, there is also a large M&S which adjoins Tesco's!

There might be a bit of potential for damage to your wallet also if you visit Mercedes Benz World, and then see a lovely shiny 'Merc' which you just can't resist, and simply must have!

They do have a good selection of second hand... or should that be "pre-owned" models also, which are all parked outside, with full details on display.

I defy anyone not to be tempted by something when they visit there... I know I was!
