Worth waiting passed April for new PC?

I think I read somewhere on here that a new chipset/something was being released some time in April?

Now that the Sandybridge issues have been resolved, I'm seriously considering a new PC (yes, I know the Sandybridge issues weren't ever really a huge problem).

I will be waiting until at least the beginning of April so I can get a Vertex 3 SSD, is it worth waiting a little longer for anything else? Is there anything coming out that's worth waiting for?

Thanks.

So are there are no benchmarks for Bulldozer yet? I'm going to be building a new system soon and I have always preferred AMD to Intel but looking at the over-clocking potential of the 2500k compared to 1100T I'm thinking of going Intel.

Is it worth waiting for though?

ermmm bit of a tough one tbh, Z68 brings SSD caching, K series overclocking whilst using the onchip gfx, and some quick sync stuff.

the article that Mike306 posted is well worth a read & explains what Z68 is all about, so if you've got no need for the few extra's Z68 brings then it's not really worth waiting for, might as well just go B3.

from the sounds of it, i'd wait for the new mobos only becuase the current generation feel to me like they have been rushed out and have a few problems and missing features, it will probably be better in the long run to wait :)

It's certainly plausible.

If you're thinking drops on SB stuff I doubt it. Remember AMD are the more competitive price wise, and are more "budget" - that may change with BD though, no-one knows xD

Thanks for those :)

I am of course going to be getting a graphic card (probably GTX480), but don't quite understand if the new graphics capabilities of the Z68 chipset will benefit me?

The SSD caching does look rather good, I would like to have it there, but when I think about it, it'll be pointless for me as I'll be getting a 120GB SSD for OS/programs/some games which should be enough for my main stuff, everything else will go onto a fast 1TB.

Means I have to wait a whole month and a half for two features I probably won't use (unless the graphic one will benefit me?).

I can't make up my mind, I really want a new computer; running an Athlon 6000+ and a Radeon 3600 that I built a few years ago and recently built a new comp for a friend and even though it was just a low AMD processor with a cheap graphics card it was a lot quicker than my pc! I cant decide on Sandybridge or wait for Bulldozer though!
