I saw this last night, loved it. That's what you pay your license fee for, not **** like East Enders.
You are probably right with Lintott taking over if they keep the show in the same format, but when Moore does finally finish then they may try to move the show to an earlier slot with a new format. You know what the BBC are like and they never leave anything alone, but seeing as Moore has done this show since the beginning I believe they will continue to respect his presenting style and the show until he does finish.
The stargazing live show that Cox and Ó Briain presented on, may have been the BBC 'testing the water' so to speak with a possible format change for the sky at night, to allow it to bring astronomy/cosmology/physics to a more general audience as currently the show is very target audience specific, which coincidentally is what appeals to me.
I could be completely wrong about the above as im basing it entirely on my own hunch.
i see Sir Patrick M has a bright new set of teeth, or was i seeing things lol
I can't see him going on too much longer?
I'm sure it's not intended this way, but personally I do find this sort of discussion some what distasteful... He'll go when he goes, in the meantime leave him be...Neither can I, I said towards the end of last year that I felt he wouldnt last much longer. I can see him departing our planet either this year or the next.

No its not intended distastefully, but I'm sure some might take it that way, hell some people take discussing all manner of things as distasteful so its odds on that someone might.
I guess I am just callous in that I sometimes think to myself when I see someone (like I did when I saw Alex Higgins) that it "cant be long now". I mean no insult by it, its just the way I think and I am prone to openly discussing the way I think. Apologies if anyone took it to heart.
No problem
He really is a bit of a national treasure though isn't he! So there's been 700 episodes of the Sky At Night, of which he's presented 699. Why did he miss that one episode?
Right, not happy, 5 minutes of vaguely interesting content and 30 minutes of absolute waffle and now we have reached what seems to be the level of GCSE physics.
indeed, exactly the reason i don't really watch hid programs

Apparently he had a near fatal bout of food poisoning for that episode, back in 2004.
It's on again tonight guys!
Really? You mean they show each episode from the series, on the same channel? On the same day? At the same time?![]()
