Beeping bin bag!

Being rubbish day in my local area people have put out their bins and bin bags.

Over the last couple of hours I've heard this random shrill beeping; on and off, changing in frequency, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes just a couple of beeps followed by silence.

Looking out back there's a bin bag flashing red in time with the beeps and is definately the source.

Now I have no idea what this could be and I'm not one to dig through someone's rubbish even when a suspect device isn't present!

Now I'm not sure what to do about this, i don't think it's anything dangerous but it's darned annoying and probably an alarm off something... phone the Police maybe (non-urgent number)?

God help me if this goes on all night.

They probably will actually come and take it away and blow it up for you if you phone and say theres a load of bin bags beeping and flashing

It's a pile of bags; we have a crescent of houses with an area inside where the back gardens are. It's quite sheltered and there's no way to tell who put them there really.

Phone up the none emergency number, then its their problem... I would also hide under the bed until it is safely removed

Could be a smoke alarm but it's very loud and going off in spurts, not just the freindly warning beep of a flat battery, if the battery were dying I'd expect it to make a lot less noise less frequently.

Phone the police and tell them you suspect it's a bomb, take photos of them doing a coontrolled explosion on a childs toy and post them here

just phone the local police number and tell them theres a bin bag that keeps beeping.... tell them you saw some dodgy looking osama bin laden lookalike watching it from around a corner
