That is the question....well part of it.

Have just re-watched Fight Club and have always been wondering if Ed Norton and HBC die in the end.

Originally I thought they did, but am now a bit 6 and 2 three's on it.

only noticed tongiht that after he shoots himsen, when thr recruits come up in the lift, they have arms full of crisps and beer. Not what you would expect someone to bring to their imminent death (well, maybe, but would involve a bit more than that). That part makes me think that they live, yet Marla is always ecpecting to die at anytime and TD was saying that yo have to let go to live, so part of me thinks they die.....am not too sure.

What do others think on this one ?

i thought it didn't even happen and it was his release from his insomnia and he fell asleep

According to Wikipedia he doesn't kill himself.

"He fires it into his mouth, shooting through the cheek without killing himself."

marky...yeah, go tthta bit. thats th eway he manages to free himself of TD, was wondering though if they were in a buidling that was part of Project Mayhem and so would vanish like the others...

I think he means the part where all of the building start to explode.

In the book he appears to end up in some kind of coma or catatonic state in hospital.

Read the book which helps explain the ending better.

Exactly - they don't die as they were up there to watch the show (so to speak)

One of those films I like watching but not really sure why, if that makes sense. It's quite a dark depressing film but must have seen it 1/2 dozen times at least.
