got a new website, what you do think?

Matey, absolutely no offence but i read it as trist and drink water, thinking it was some kind of fitness craze water, could you not incorporate another domain name with photography in? just an idea...

The site is brilliant though...simple and effective, easy to navigate and good photos! well done

cheers for the comments. :)

The thumbnails are slices of the original photo (auto generating don't-you-know...).

I might turn the auto generating off and make my own so I get a better view of the larger image.

Thanks again. :)

It's also on the edge of being annoyingly slow to load, other than that it's fairly consistent and a nice layout.

Ah, if I go to landscape and then click on news, it closes the gallery and then just sits there, that needs a fix. (in W7/Chrome)

Odd, I can't reproduce that issue.....

I'll look at making the images smaller in file size to help with loading times. I'm not going to go to the extremes of making it load really fast as in the end it is a Photography site and very picture heavy.

Thanks for your input.

Need to sort your thumbnails out! Most of them appear as solid blocks of colour hiding some really nice photos.

This.

i think you need to make your own thumbnails, or if auto-generating just resize, don't crop.

Other things: it is a little slow, both the thumbnails and pictures are a little small.

I'm not sure it is just the file loading (im on an extremely fast uni connection), the transitions and effects are a bit slow.

for me speed is the issue. It loads all placeholders then loads each image individually. I'm spent with a wall of grey, then one thumbnail, then the next etc...

I'd rather wait a wee bit longer and be presented with the finished page.

pretty enough tho.

The whole site's Flash and for that reason and that reason alone the site is poor and you're instantly denying access to a whole host of users. Sorry!

After writing that the site's also just crashed when I clicked Contact. Learn CSS and jQuery and throw Flash out the window.

Nice clean simple layout, really like it.

Sorry, don't like the swirling flash countdown timers waiting for the site to load. Unless I'm looking for something particular, any site that starts with a flash Loading....etc etc message, I'll usually pass by so you could miss out on casual browsers.

thanks for the comments guys.

I've redone the thumbnails so it gives a better representation of the larger image.

I've sped up the transition time on opening and closing sections. Not by much as it looked odd, loading then BANG open, so I think it's a bit smoother now.

As for the the comments about using flash and it turning casual browsers off, I don't really intend to generate large organic traffic on to this site. It's really just a tool to point people to that I meet when I'm out and about to highlight a few of my best bits.

:)
