Asus P8P67 Pro - Red CPU LED

Well, their PR team tell us that "ASUS, ... the maker of the world’s best selling and most award winning motherboards, is a leading enterprise in the new digital era."

I think it is probably true to say that the acknowledged market leader, although I am sure there are a lot of folks on here who think differently!

Yes im sure a lot of people wouldnt agree since sandy bridge boards arrived.

If i have to choose,i would still go for Asus first, then Gigabyte UD4 or MSI GD65,but dont expect those mobos to be bug free - they also have they problems, thing is that Asus selling way more mobos than GB and MSI,thats why more problems, but overall i dont think GB or MSI have better boards.
No point to pay more for expensive mobos also - you get everything you need and more from those,i dont think extra switch worth 40+ quid..Even if you overcklock 200mhz more
Also,i think Asus will fix those issues, its simple that they need time with that new UEFI thing, have same problems in the past with Asus Maximus Formula's,and when they fix they bios,it was rock stable,no problems at all, they probably need few more UEFI versions to fix most problems

oh **** i have a red light ... I thought it was because i didn't plug in the bios beep cable.I was just happy it booted first time.

To be honest I've just had a belly full of my Asus P8P67 pro B3 board , having yesterday rebuilt the system from the ground up again yesterday to try and stop the problems I've been having with it. All seemed fine after the rebuild, but after just being on for 10 min this morning it lost the keyboard until I rebooted. I was thinking of buying a Gigabyte board to replace the Asus but I'm so bloody disheartened with the whole Sandybridge experience I've had, that I'm going to go back to my old 3.02 gig socket 775 rig. It's just been a sheer waste of a lot of hard earned cash.

I agreee very much so. This is my now 3rd board.

1st board - wrong motherboard in box - with incorrect stock label.
2nd board - double reboot issue and intel bug
upgraded from normal to pro
3rd board - pro board with red led ! arghhhhhhhhhh

Anyone recomend a good motherboard for about £150.

Double reboot issue? What is this, can you explain please?

I might have the same issue? I have an asus pro mobo and whenever my PC is unplugged from the wall, I get a kind of double reboot, like 2 secs its on then reboot and it runs fine, when I don't unplug from wall it runs fine. Any ideas?

Sure -
1 - Turn PC on.
2 - Displays splash screen
3 - Displays RAID screen
4 - Turns off
5 - Turns it self on
6 - Displays splash screen
7 - Displays RAIS screen
8 - boots OS

thus the 'double boot' problem.

Enter UEFI BIOS -> go to ‘Advanced’ tab -> go down to ‘APM’, press Enter -> enable the “Power on by PCIe.” function. Then press F10 to save & exit. After save & exit, let the system boot into Windows or other OS, then perform a proper shutdown: Start button -> Shut down.

This fixed it for me.
