Hi all,

What cooler is everyone using for the Asus P8P67 Pro B3 board?

I've read that the H70 does not allow all securing pins to be fixed AND the Noctua NHD14 conflicts with the Corsair Vengeance RAM i've got.

I'm after the coolest and quietest cooler for under £100!

Thanks

I'd look at either the Noctua with the fan moved to the other side, or the Thermalright Archon.

Hmmm, it is possible to swap the fans around on the Noctua? I don't know the exact issue - whether it was indeed the fan or the heatsink blocking the RAM.

+1 for the Thermalright Archon

... but remeber it is very tall so make sure it will fit your case.

Heatsink Specifications:
Dimension: Length 155mm x Width 53mm x Height 170mm

the supplied fan is great and quiet.

Edit...

The CM Cosmos-S in your sig has a Maximum CPU cooler height:154.9mm so it won't fit!

I don't have the B3 revison, but I'm using the Noctua D14, but corsair XMS3 ram, vengance modules are too tall. I've got a drawing of the cooler on top of the motherboards, which shows where the cooler covers, I'll find it in my emails when I get home this evening, and post it up, but it basically shows, that tall ram modules won't fit.

Damn, that won't fit in my FT02 either. Max height for the FT02 is 165mm.

From Thermalright Archon product page:

With the max width of 55mm, tall memory heat spreaders are avoided.

According to the Thermalright Archon Motherboard Compatible List (MCL) it is ok with the Asus P67 mobos.

For the Noctua D14, the motherboard in the pictures is actually the deluxe, but the ram/HS/CPU orientation is identical.

From the looks of those, you might be able to (just) get away with tall modules if you but them in the blue slots, and put the fan on the other side of the cooler.

Ok so you believe a reptuable company like corsair would do that... sure
check out the benchmarks if thats what you think, but the vengeance and xms3 are not the same thing

Thermalright Silver Arrow and move the front fan to the back or Noctua NH-D14 and simply move the fan upwards.

Or the Thermalright VX.

Well i can confirm the Corsair H70 does fit good. I have it locked into this motherbnoard fine and can it fits fine. My Haf 912 case has a backplate to allow me access but the backplate does need to be slightly squint, and im getting really good temp's converting with MeGui right now at 4.5Ghz and current temp is 49!!

No need for the hostility. Was just repeating what I'm sure I read on here...jeez.

i got the h50-1 on a asus pro and my temps are low in a push/pull setup temp playing bfbc2 for 2hrs and its still not hit 30c no problem fitting to a asus motherboard.

I have only upgraded recently, got the Asus P8P67 B3 board & the i7 2600k.

The stock cooler lasted 3 days before I ripped it off and intalled a Thermaltake Frio.

I must say I am very impressed it keeps temps in the mid 20's to low 30's on low fan speeds even when overclocked to 4.8ghz (Depends on Room Temp)

Even when gaming I have not seen temps rise above 40 degrees yet. As long as you can fit it in your case I can recommend.

Plus its cheaper than most of the other coolers with similar performance too.
