I'm learning Italian now as I've put it off for a few years. I've got Italian family but don't really see them, My Nan lives here so I see her but she talks English so didn't see the need to talk Italian.

But now I've got to the age where I want to, I've got the books, audio cd etc I'm just looking if there are other ways? (I'm currently listening to an Italian Radio Station) I'm thinking about things like newspapers or magazines or the likes.

Thanks

Wish I had the time to learn, from an Italian family myself but so few of the Italian speakers are still alive/in the UK so there was never any need to be taught at a young age. Bah!

If there are any Italian societies near you, maybe inquire about them? Otherwise I'd say immerse yourself in it by visiting Italy :)

This is GD after all, and there is no rule about swearing in other languages :D

Swearing is not allowed, there is no reason why this would be an exception - Zefan.

My Nan always say's that she wish she taught use when we were younger and I wish she did but I thought I'd start now :D

Might have to have a look around and see what's about, I really want to go to Italy but my Dad said it's quite expensive, but I've seen flights to Milan for around £140 there and back for 2 people which is good

Start watching some movies:

Il Postino, Il Divo, Life Is Beautiful, Cinema Paradiso, Amacord

Best of all visit the place.

Flights and accomodation can be had cheap but there is no way round the cost of things ocne you're there.

Me and the girlfriend are going to Rome on Thursday for 5 nights, £55 on flights each and £90 each on the hotel so total £145 each. Budgeting £250 to spend whilst there though.

That's cheap for accommodation, Are you staying at a hotel or B&B? Could be quite nice to find somewhere in Milan or somewhere like that (Even though Milan is really expensive)

That's excellent. With a bit of sign language thrown in you’ll soon be speaking like one of the locals. :)
