Just built an HTPC, and the blu-ray drive (Samsung SH-B123L/BSBP) came with Cyberlink Media Suite 9. I've now been trying to install this poxy piece of software all afternoon and it constantly hangs when it gets to Cyberlink MediaShow.

There is no option for a customer install - I only want PowerDVD so I can play Blu-ray's, and it seems to have a set order of installing each program included in the suite.

Any ideas? I've tried searching for an answer and have come up completely blank.

I left it installing for about an hour and it had moved past the MediaShow install, so I took it as just taking an age to install, it took about 3 hours to fully install, bizarrely. Got there in the end though.

Sigh - Just when I thought I was there, it's decided not to work again.

Version is Powerdvd 9, was working fine Sunday night, tried to finish the Blu-Ray I was watching yesterday, and when I hit play, up pops a loading blu-screen with progress bar, but once it hits 100% and disappears, nothing. Absolutely nothing happens.

I'm thinking its probably best to remove the suite from my comp and get something that actually works, what alternatives are there?

Ideally looking for something that integrates into a media centre front end - Using xbmc at the moment, but nothing is set up so that can change if needed.

I dropped PowerDVD a few days ago because even with version 11 it was slow and caused Mediacentre to crash when playing newer blu-ray's such as Scott Pilgram. Now moved onto TotalMedia Theatre, intergates nicely into Mediacentre, plays all my blu-ray's without crashing, quicker and cheaper to buy than PowerDVD.

Was actually just looking into TMT, certainly looks like it does the business.
