Hi All,

Before the start of this year I hadn't watched a sitcom in ages, just lost interest. Ages ago I used to watch sitcoms all the time, Red Dwarf, Father Ted, Spaced that sort of thing. But then the sketch show seemed to take over and sit coms faded.

However this year I have found new sitcoms and am loving the format. I have recently watched:-

Inbetweeners - Series 1-3
Peep Show - Series 1-7
The Thick of It - Series 1-3
The IT Crowd - Series 1-4
and Garth Marenghi's Darkplace

Yesterday I started watching Friday Night Dinner and Twenty Twelve, first episodes we very good.

Can anyone recommend any other recent British sitcom?

The Office, though I find it hard to believe that you haven't seen it already. :p

And it's not recent, but Fawlty Towers still stands out in my mind as being one of the best of all time, and deserves worthy place on any comedy list.

''Not Going Out'' is quite good and would recommend you give it a try, Also look up ''Black Books'' by the same writer as The IT Crowd

Thanks for the replies.

Greenwing - one of the best ever!
Office and Extras - done and enjoyed.
Fawlty Towers - perfection.

Will try Black Books and look into coupling, thanks.

I always thought that The Might Boosh was simply the media engaging in an exercise of celebrating mediocrity....

Only Fools - no matter how many times i see it I laugh
On the Buses - Crude, rude and definitely not PC butvery funny. Dont see many comedies today where you could have a nickname like Hitler and do a Nazi saulte and scream heil hitler behind his back - The movies are the funniest though imo
Dads Army - One of the all time greats
Til Death do us part

I love the older comedy shows. They could take the mic out of anyone and it was just clean fun and with the exception of on the buses being a tad rude with innuendo's it was sex and bad language free tv
