Impressed that Limbos made the cut - thats a good thing for XBLA/PSN games as theres some real quality out there, sometimes far more than what hits the shelves.

Cant see past Galaxy 2 or ME2 winning though - dont understand why FIFA 11s there, while something like RDR isnt

EDIT: Wow @ Molyneux getting the third fellowship

Rockstar declined to put RDR forward for consideration:

Not sure of the reason why, would have definately made the nominees list.

Yeah that is pretty ridiculous, was one of my top games of last year, but really I think it should go to Mass Effect 2.

It's funny also that you can get a BAFTA for this kind of tripe:

Best Social Network Game:

Bejeweled Blitz

Farmerama

FIFA Superstars

My Empire

Zoo Mumba

Zuma Blitz

What's wrong with that?

The story in Black Ops is actually quite a good one.

Or is it 'cool' to hate on Black Ops at the moment?

Is it? I don't know. I just know that the story isn't the best out there with current games easily beating it for story.

If you like it fine, not going to take that away from you. But I'm sure as hell not laughing because it's "cool" to hate on it.

Nooooooooo, no speakers on TV... Is it possible for someone to capture it and upload it?

ags

You do realise it will be streamed live on their website so you can watch it on your pc? If not, then you can watch it later as they will put it up on their website so you can watch it whenever - think they did that last year. :)

While i don't really play social networking games, only a fool would dismiss them. Like them or not, they have achieved a foothold in the casual market, and they do have an influence on the industry as a whole.

Some predictions.

Best Game - Mass Effect 2
Action - Halo: Reach or Black Ops
Artistic Achievement - Can't call this one, but i don't think Black Ops will get this.
Family - Probably Kinect Adventures or Dance Central
Gameplay - GOW 3, AC:B, or SMG2
Handheld - Professor Layton possibly
Multiplayer - Black Ops..as much as i hate the milking, it's had the largest impact in this area.
Music - ME2, Fable 3 or Heavy Rain
Sports - don't play them so no comment
Story - Between Heavy Rain and ME2
Strategy - Starcraft probably, or possibly plants vs zombies
Technical Innovation - Kinectimals i reckon
Use of Audio - AC:B or Alan Wake
One to Watch - no idea
GAME Award of 2010 - Black Ops...

Think mine will be:

* Action - Halo: Reach or Bad Company 2
* Artistic Achievement - Heavy Rain or Limbo
* Best Game - Super Mario Galaxy 2 or Mass Effect 2
* Family - Dance Central
* Gameplay - Super Mario Galaxy 2
* Handheld - God of War: Ghost of Sparta
* Multiplayer - Battlefield: Bad Company 2 or Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
* Original Music - Heavy Rain or Mass Effect 2
* Social Network Game - No idea
* Sports - Gran Turismo 5 or Football Manager 2011
* Story - Heavy Rain or Mass Effect 2
* Strategy - Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty
* Technical Innovation - Heavy Rain
* Use of Audio - DJ Hero 2 or Limbo
* BAFTA Ones To Watch Award - No idea
* The GAME Award 2010 - Red Dead Redemption

The storyline was just so cliched.
Borrowing from films where ever they could, especially the Vietnam type sections.

All drummed together with a crazy Fight Club style plot.

I didn't like it and didn't care much either for the style of the way it was supposed to be memories while in the chair. There are far better candidates out there.

I'm not saying it deserves to win best story out of everything else, but I didn't think the story was that bad and actually quite enjoyed the way it was told.
