GTX480 SOC idle + oc advice please

Gone from 5870 @900/1250 to Gigabyte 480 SOC.

Tested heaven 2.5, warhead and metro 2033 so far.

Massive improvemtents in Heaven and metro as you would expect, only about 10% improvement in warhead.

What utils do you guys use to adjust voltage and overclock Nvidia cards?


According to GPUz this card is idling at 50Mhz core and 68Mhz memory clock, does that sound right? It's cool and quiet at 36C idle, two words I never though would be associated with a revision one fermi card. Under load it didnt increase in noise level either, unlike my 5870 which would increase slightly but noticeably under load.

Thats normal for low power idle on the 480s.

Its going to be weird seeing a gtx480 in your sig from now on!

Indeed, never would have thought I'd own a 480 but the Gigabyte SOC deals with my issues with the card, can't get over how quiet it is.

Report back with what overclock you can get out of it.

Yeah 50Mhz is right for idle clock, best OC tool is MSI afteburner.
