hi there,

I tried putting my money in silver but that failed so instead I fancy investing some cash and shoving some plates on retention so I can become rich.

any obvious ones out there which haven't been snapped up

sh11hot was one I wanted for my future lambo but it appears to not be available :(

WG11LLL is available, should I? or should I pay the £405 fee to pay someone to track down the sod with my old plate?

anyway, any decent plates out there worthy of potential investment?

So paying the £405 pretty much guarantees that you'll get it back? Or just that you'll find who's got it? Because once you find the sod they'll just tell you to whistle for it :).

I have a large sob story prepared, if that fails ill pay him, it really cannot have any value unless he randomly has the same name as me!

I've always fancied a cheap plate, just never known if it's worth the money! Could still get R55 GHJ for £254 total (Russ is my first name, GHJ are my other initials). It just doesn't look very personalised!

If a **** or bust high risk punt is what you're after, you could do worse than take a quick look at something like this

Disclaimer re motive: I am invested, and I am biased. I haven't forgotten the time you took to help me out a few years ago, and a headsup on a doubleyourmoneyinaweek tip for you to research yourself seemed like a decent way of saying thanks.

On plates, imo HE11 YEA and SK11 BUM are the most likely to see interest from affluent buyers in future.

No, get your old plate back, you'll only wish you did and you'd stop moaning about it then! :p

Consider yourself lucky, the plate I want was 24k last time I checked :p

nice one mate always interested in decent options, I've immediately mailed my broker/mate and will drop you a mail with our decisions (if you are interested that is!)

was more of a future nest egg creation mini project

as we are back scratching, similar position I went for a few years back continues to reward - Tullow Oil, I'm doing a large project for them at the moment which should substantially add to their already highly attractive investment potential.
