What's RD?

Ruling Divide. Well I think that is what the message says. It's also called 'The Shogun's Ire'. That bar in your Clan Management page for clan fame does it I think. Shogun gets upset and forms an alliance to destroy you because he sees you are growing too powerful. In my case every other clan seemed to join. This is on medium.

ARghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Expanded quite far to almost Kyoto and then I got RD and the WHOLE of Japan is against me. My foothold next to Kyoto is taking 1-3 attacks per turn from almost full stacks. My army won't be able to survive much longer. Got lucky as their armies had not many bowman so I was picking a fair few off before they scaled the walls. But now there is armies attacking with 7-8 bowmen :(. Looks like I will lose everything. Might just try for Kyoto in a few turns when my other armies can get to front line, but they are too busy fending off navy invasions every turn.

Oh and this is in a level one castle which is annoying. I don't have the income anymore to build it up. Was getting close to 7000 per turn before RD as I had trade agreement with most of the factions. Now down to about 1500 per turn.
Amazing. This'll bring back fond memories of M2TW where I sent armies to take over a few cities around jerusalem, and ended up spending the rest of the game using my dwindling finances/troops to fend off stack after stack of muslim armies trying to retake their land. Needless to say I eventually broke.

Well I just had a pretty large castle battle at night and no slowdown on ultra settings unless I zoomed right in to a mass battle and dropped the angle so I could see everything, even then it was only slight (probably still 30fps+) and perfectly playable.

What specs you running?

Cracked, I just have bought the game... as i have a day off tomorrow.

Can someone remind me how to force the game to do the majority of the installation from the discs?

Never had to follow any instructions/workarounds, just put disks in, entered key and it installed. Steam updated it and away I went. Dunno why people had issues with it trying to dl from steam...

Anyway been playing most of yesterday and some of today. Defo the best TW to date imo (early impressions anyway). AI is indeed not crazy dumb like in earlier TW games. On hard I'm finding it a nice challenge so far but no doubt will bump it up when I get into the swing of things. I'm a bit rusty :p Castle battles are great. The tiers make it way more tactical. AI also seems decent on the strategy map as well. This is the first TW game that I haven't thought - 'I'll have to wait months for modders to fix the AI'. No doubt it can be improved upon but for something 'out of the box' CA have done good this time around.

This game runs so amazingly well - plus it looks so much better than Empire. Thought I would have a problem with the small setting of Japan, but there is actually so much depth to this!

more pics? :) Ive only played rome and shogun 1 any new features since then?

In saying that i do have Medieval 2 sitting here i should maybe play that......:o

I am so dissapointed that i'm getting awful performance :(

Seems like a great game. Think i will play Napoleon for a bit (which i picked up for a fiver the other day) until this (hopefully) gets fixed.

I'mma get Hazro 27" on release and this game very soon. You jelly?

How do you like Napoleon: Total War? I bought it ages ago and haven't played it much yet. I've never got sucked into this time period.

Medieval II, on the other hand, doesn't get left alone at any time. This game with mods is sheer brilliance.
