What do you do for a living?

Worked as a BT technician for 19 yrs before taking redundancy and going to Uni.

Now started as IT support ('service desk analyst', ahem) for a clothing retailer, hoping to get involved in some development work before too long.

Generally - Tax Advisor
Specifically - at the moment I'm working as a Global Transfer Pricing Analyst.

Previous roles in the same co (still as a Tax Advisor) include International Executive Services Consultant and Corporate Tax Assistant.

I currently (and for the last 10 years) build industrial endoscopes, working as an instrument technician for a very small firm. Also doing an engineering HND, and want nothing more career wise to find a good company that will support me through a final year degree top up, and end up with a job that I can finally use my brain in.

I develop this http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/storage/disk/storwize_v7000/index.html and this http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/storage/software/virtualization/svc/index.html

A shiny new mid range virtualized disk system and an enterprise clustered storage virtualization appliance.

Closest thing to a title is "Test Engineer", I've recently been moving into a Test Lead role.

Hmmm i'm off to IBM to speak about SVC in a week or two....had an interesting chat with the IBM storage CTO the other month.

My job title is finance assistant but whenever I tell people that they seem to think that I deal with car finance etc :/ when actually its accountancy work.
