Hi all,

Looking for some suggestions on nice romantic breaks around the uk.

Ideally, somewhere remote, self catering cottage, real fires, lots of scenery for walks/photography, not surrounded by other holiday homes etc. maybe coastal.

just somewhere it can be the 2 of us.

any suggestions?

Can recommend http://www.yellowtopcountry.co.uk/. Me and the girlfriend have been two valentines day's in a row now. The hot tub is fantastic, we didn't want to get out! ;) . All self catering with full kitchen, central heating etc, it's right in the country though you do have "neighbours" (must be at least 15ft between lodges, so no noise at all and you can completely avoid other people if necessary). The lodges are all set around the edge of a lake so quite picturesque! There's a few walks that you can go on and close to York (lovely city).

A minor issue but easily avoided... we went for a "Harvest Plus" lodge the second time (this year) which is basically the same as the "Harvest" but with a memory foam mattress (and the hot tub is straight off the bedroom instead of the hallway) and the other half couldn't sleep because of said memory foam... the normal mattress was much nicer and the minor inconvenience of walking 5 metres down the hall for the hot tub would be worth it for a good kip! If you already have memory foam at home then you can ignore this obviously :p .

North coast of Norfolk is very scenic.

New Forest?

Heading off to north Wales with the other half in may. Little cottage on a farm costing us 180 quid for a week. No hot tubs or memory foam, but great scenery and cheap as chips for us budget folks lol
