Thinking about head up to Birmingham (to see a friend) this weekend.

Plan is to either head up there tonight or tomorrow morning.

Just need advice on whether I should go after work (would it the road at around 6pm) or go tomorrow morning (leave around 7am)?

What do you think?

Traffic wise I'd say tomorrow would be better. Saturdays are normally a good day for travelling, far less trucks on the road (and accidents usually). Friday evenings seem to be a mad time with commuter rushing round, although a lot of these will have subsided by the time you get to the Midlands.

I'd do it tomorrow.

Yeah I was kind of thinking that too. I wanted to go out for a meal tonight... Guess I can give it a miss as traffic will no doubt be a pain :(

Whilst this thread is open.......

What is the most outrageous journey you've ever done?

I was went from London (after work) to Bangor, Wales. Left work at around 5pm.... Mad it to Wales around 11:30pm a very tired man. Now I only go there by train!

If you leave tonight I'd leave after 7pm - that way the bulk of the commuting traffic will be gone and you'll get a clean run.

Otherwise tomorrow morning - early.
