Gigabyte boards good or bad?

Thats a huge help thanks.

My other question was is it possible to make the computer go to sleep/ power saving set up so it runs in the back ground downloading but everything look off?

Hi, I use sleep on my motherboard, I use S3 mode, and it works a treat. I dont really download much now, but I can put sleep on a timer so it goes to sleep once my download is done...

So am I right in thinking it can't sleep while it's downloading?

I'd be surprised if there wasn't Some option to low the power so it's just enough to download and work in the background like the asus al nap.

Well I haven't had an Asus board in years after a bad experience with RMA'ing one, but Intel speedstep will reduce the power of your computer if you leave it doing something like downloading...

I don't think a computer can be put to sleep while downloading, as the hard drive would spin down and then the download would have no where to be stored.

Personal choice, but I found Asus to be the best, then EVGA then Gigabyte. I've had a few GB boards fail on me, and none of the others.

I always bought Gigabyte, everything from Socket A, LGA775 to Socket 1156, quality and memory compatibility is fantastic, as for overclocking they are well respected, who remembers DS3P Mobo's for 2CD's , fantastic.

I always bought ABIT but now they are defunct will continue with Gigabyte. personally having built quite a few Asus systems for other people, I do not like them and fail to understand their popularity. Cheap I suppose but poor compatibility.

Does the UD4 have any option like Al Nap
With AI Nap, users can instantly snooze your PC without terminating the tasks. System will continue operating at minimum power and noise when user is temporarily away. It keeps downloading files or running applications in quietest state while you´re sleeping. Simply click keyboard or mouse, you can swiftly wake up the system in few seconds.

Gigabyte are good. The motherboards are good, the aftersales support is good.

Matrix, you have your own thread with much the same answers already. It should be profoundly obvious by now that Gigabyte do not offer AI nap. I don't see any benefit to AI nap, and have doubts about how well it would work. If it's a dealbreaker though, you should obviously buy an Asus board and just hope it doesn't fail within warranty.

Al nap works very well I know this as I own a p5q-e board .

The reason I asked in this thread is that people own gigabyte boards here so I was wondering if there was any other programs like it.

I rate gigabyte and Asus exactly the same from personal experience and have never had a major issue with either of them. Had an Msi mobo years ago that was solid as a rock for about 7 years so I tend to look between those 3 and pick best price to performance that suits my needs.
