20% off 4/5 litre part and fully syth oil at Halfords

If you think those prices are good your head would implode if you had access to a trade card ;).

Thanks for the heads up though.

A Halfords trade card doesnt provide you with heavily discounted Castrol Edge, does it? I thought it was just the lower end stuff.

Halfords Trade Card is easy enough to blag. Don't use it much though.

If you are able to get trade cards for main dealers via club memberships, do it. I pay £20 per annum for a club that gets me a VX trade card, access to a good community + 4 free magazines.

Couple months ago I got 20L GM 10w40 semi synth for £30. :p

It'll covers everything (broadly speaking) motor trade related, regardless of brand :).

I'm not sure on exactly how much of a discount it'd be but I'd be shocked if it wasn't a few quid cheaper than those sale prices. I've never, ever came across an item on sale that wasn't cheaper than using my trade card.

The discount differs on a product by product basis. On own brand stuff the discounts are simply enormous - on branded products such as Edge, the discount is much less, in the order of about 10%.

It is presumably based on the margin they have in each product.

What he said. When i bought a bottle of mobil 1 a while back i only got a couple of quid off it, yet discounts on halfords brand items are crazy, a battery that should cost £84 i got for £51.77.

I got some Radflush that was meant to be a fiver for 97p, and some fancy-pants Mobil oil for about a tenner less than retail.

On some items I've saved nothing though, luck of the draw. It's based on their margins.

Just been and picked up 4 litres of Castrol 5w30 for £36, think I got caught between two deals because not only did I get the 20% off, I also got a free 1Kg tub of Swarfega! Result

My local Ford dealers are doing a great deal at the mo, Don't know whether it's all dealers.
I got 5 litres of Ford Formula F 5/30 for just over 15 quid.

Makro have 30% off all Castrol Edge at the mo, far cheaper than halfords.

Got 4ltrs of 5w/30 for under £29, think some of the other weights are cheaper than that too :)
