Extreme Super (Full) Moon

The moon is really bright tonight already. Not very close down south though.

Anyone know if this is a good telescope for the money? Want something for my boy to use and have a look at things now and then.

50mm/180x

Generally just stay away from Nat Geo. 50mm is tiny anyway, you might see the moon but...

A rubbish cheap telescope is more likely to discourage you from astronomy than fulfil a desire for it. How much would you be willing to spend?

Not much really, it would be brought out now and then, not looking to get into it heavily for me or my boy really. Just want to have something so that on nights like tonight and tomorrow we could see things better than with the naked eye :)

Open to recommendations up to about £50 i guess.
Binoculars or telescope, open to either.

Might be worth looking at something like a Skywatcher Herritage 76, (or a Celestron Firstscope, which is practically the same but comes with less accessories). Binoculars might be a good idea but i've no idea where to start.

I think i saw something sounding like a celestron firstscope on tesco.com will have another look in a mo, ta :)
