Homefront

I'd say so. When it actually works it's good fun. They just need to get more servers up to cope with the amount of people playing the game.

I almost just threw my TV out the window, was in the middle of a game having a great one had around 3000 bp saved as soon as I died was gonna hop into the apache for the 1st time but no it froze AAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH. Noticed another problem aswell, I have been trying to get the Dragon Ice and Dragon Fire camos unlocked for my ACR and they unlock after you get a 10 killstreak with that gun. Well, I just got the 10 killstreak and the camos are still locked.

It really is a good/fun game but it's full of problems right now, I'll give it a week or so but after that I thi8nk it'll be time for a trade in.

I've been online with it today and just couldn't get a good game, my connection was yelling or red most of the time, never green, I kept getting booted or loosing connection.

I really think the servers need a tweak as at the moment they are a bit too unstable.

Definitely looking to buy this game either at Easter or at Summer. Although the single player is short that will probably be ok for me, will be able to play it at once.

Will also be nice to play some FPS multiplayer on a game other than Call Of Duty, well, if the servers and connection let me.

I'm busy playing through this atm.. SP..

its not that bad.. the storyline reminds me of HL2 and the visuals/gameplay reminds me of COD4/6

Defo worth a punt on a rental.. as I'm guessing its quite short..

Yet to try the MP..

Some bits of SP on Guerrilla are quite difficult! Either I pop my head up and instantly get dropped or when trying to run away from grenades I get blocked by the computer controlled players! :p

Well the single player so far is underwhelming. Graphically its a bit of a pig, some of the shadows are harsh around characters making them look like they have a black halo and detached from the environment.

At times it kind feels like Half Life 2 which is a good thing but something about it just isn't gelling. I haven't tried the Multiplayer yet.

Rented this for a week for the multiplayer to keep me busy until Crysis 2.

Decided to do the Single Player first to get a feel for it.

4 hours later, that's done and now into multiplayer.

WHY ON EARTH have THQ adopted the EA approach to multiplayer with one-use codes?! It just frustrates me so much. *****.

I thought that was probably obvious from the fact you rented it! :p

The Developer and Publisher get NOTHING if the game is rented or bought second hand from many of the big high street stores which do trade ins.

Finished the single player and thoroughly enjoyed it. Shame about the graphics though, blocky and the frame rate wasnt great either. If they do a sequel, they need a new engine. The MP is also fun, let down only by the visuals and me sucking at it ;)

I thought rental copies are higher in price to reflect this?

The only reason the rental prices are higher on games is because people will have them for longer than they do films, plus they can charge what they like and people will pay it.

In the case of something like Lovefilm though, it's only a couple of quid extra a month. I've got no idea what high-street rental places charge these days... do people still use them? My local Blockbuster shut down a year ago.

They are aware of server issues. The issues being there aren't enough servers for the amount of people playing the game!
They need a region filter as I get put with americans in the majority of games I play and it's always them that have green connection bars:rolleyes:

Personally like the MP myself, single player isn't really worth mentioning :p

If you're not narrow minded and don't play the same thing all the time *cough*COD*cough* then you will probably like it, yea sure there are a few tiny niggles here and there but overall it is fairly fun and engaging a nice change. I wouldn't buy it if your tight on money until the price drops however.

I mean the cost of the game to the rental company/store.

I paid £6 for 5 nights from my local Xtravision. (Well, £3 with a rental coupon I had)

They may be, but then they are also buying in bulk, so who knows what kind of a deal they have.

At the end of the day though, it's really the trade-in market that these measures have been brought in to counter.

It's a big problem when the high-street stores are all pushing trade-ins and keeping the brand new games at the highest rrp to try and get people to buy the second hand ones where all the profit goes to the store.

i had high hope for this game.but guess not ,Ugly visuals, looks dated when compared to many other modern FPS. Sloppy game play and level design, weapons handling is awkward and feels too rough coupled with very frustrating game play, majority of game is spent following AI team mates through simple corridor shooter levels. The shortest single player I have played to date, the end comes when it feels like things are just about to pick up. High point; flying the chopper level before the last. Low point first 2/3 of the game and do-or-die/mission fail objectives e.g. shoot marked targets only in time limit, catch vehicle before it leaves and shoot down chopper.

Played the MP for a bit last night.

Impressions were that the maps are very well designed. Recoil seems low? The BP system works well. Graphics are no worse than CoD. MP modes are fun. UAV can pwn.
