What Should I Choose?

Italy.. i'm a materialistic person, but experiences over toys tbh...

when it boils down to it, you don't need a MBP, admitadly you don't need to go to Italy either but the memories of Italy will be worth more than whatever improvement in your life you think another apple product can offer (im not bashing apple here, well not too much)... try not to get too scared about flying... i've only ever flown once (return to NY) because my mum doesnt fly, and being 19 i've only really had 1 chance to fly without my family, apparently the trip over there was very bad, but i wasn't really too bothered (and im not trying to sound cool and macho here), i guess what i'm saying is don't let a fear hold you back, no matter how small that fear is, life gets better when you go out and do stuff you usually wouldn't, and also take comfort in the fact that planes are one of the safest methods of transport, and if you do die, its likely to be fast...

I would put a holiday over any piece of hardware every time.

You can not put a price on the experience I just had in Madrid. You never know what might happen.

I would put a holiday over something from apple more than every time.

Failed humour aside, I've been to a lot of places, (temporarily forget all the places I've been) the memories and stories you can tell are priceless, don't let people talk about "cultured" or whatever, its all about the fun, the stories you can tell, and the memories you keep.

So unless you NEED something, I would say holiday, although keep in mind that in like 2 years or whatever that would be outdated as hell.

The choice is between something that will stay with you 24/7 for many years or a weeks holiday - I'd go for the hardware.
What you can do then is make a promise that Italy will be the next thing you do unless another piece of hardware comes along.

Bet his memories would last longer than his MBP.

Memories are overrated.
Like I said, his gadget could help him into a new well paid job and he can promise himself to save up for an Italy trip.

Don't get me wrong, I've been to a lot of places and my dream holiday was last year with a 3 week holiday in Egypt visiting every ancient site going but I didn't have a clue how much it cost.
If my wife had put say £4000 in my hand and said 'make a choice' I'd be sitting here with a James Tyler Variax and Marshall TSL122 amp plus a new I7 system.

I'd say the MBP is overrated based on my recent purchase. It's a choice only the OP can make though, we're just posting our own decisions ;)
