Sorry but thats BS, go fly round the world go watch other nations TV news channels then come back home and watch ours, every single media outlet in the world is always going to try and put the country of origin in the best possible light.

However the blatent lies other countrys tell its population is just laughable, our media in this respect is very good.

Thats why i feel so good paying my license fee :)

Please tell me that's a joke.

Past
The Lockerbie Bombing
The murder of Yvonne Fletcher
The Berlin Discotheque bombing in 1986
Funding the IRA, ETA, and the PLO
The systematic murdering of Libyan dissidents around the world
The 1996 mass murder of 1200 Libyan prisoners

Present
Attacking his own people, being ultimately responsible for the deaths of thousands.

I'd like to also point out that the protests began peacefully. In the event that an insane dictator begins to attack his own people with anti-aircraft weapons, I think that they're damned well within their rights to take up arms.

Most here seem to agree with you. OldCoals, however, seems to think that all of the above is some fictional tale told by the media. The facts speak for themselves.

Has it !?

There are 15 member states of the security council, but the UN as a whole is 192, which is a pretty broad international organization.

I admit it's annoying that action isn't taken against other dictators, but I think it's silly that people always try and claim it's about oil.

A bit like our current news outlets telling us the war in Libya is about humanitarian issues, when in fact its all about pumping that oil.

The reason the USA hasn't gone wading in is down to over stretched armed forces and why bother when 2 other countries are taking the lead.

I'm off out to Knutsford in a moment, i'm leaving from my own house on my own land, driving my own car. I don't need to worry about being shot on the way to my destination nor do i need to pack a gun or wear bodyarmour. I won't pass through state run checkpoints. I have no worries about going out for a drink or meal, i can buy whatever i want, i can talk freely about the world and how my country is run without the fear of being taken away, tonight i will see no fighter jets overhead, nor will i see any tanks or guns owned by the state trying to kill me.

These are all the things the real people in Libya want, they currently haven't got this, they seem to think its worth fighting for, and i think its worth giving them a hand.

That's your take on it, we already had access to the oil in Libya, it was outside investment that kept the wells running, he can't run them correctly anymore cause the experts have all flocked back to EUROPE.

I wish someone would whoop our ass, because it has been a long time coming and we deserve it. We need taking down a peg or two and reminded that we don't own the world and its resources. We are too arrogant and drunk with power.
