Our forefathers fought many wars for the right to vote in governments to make big decisions for us. Our entire modern history is founded on this right to vote in the people to make decisions for us as a country.

The UN is a group of leaders each voted in to make the decision on what is right or wrong and what action needs to be taken. 10 countries voted in favour of taking action, 5 abstained, 0 voted against.

For once the countries of the world took clear concise action which makes me happy, its truly a victory for the system.
.

Just because we are supopsedly a democratic country it doesn't mean our way of doing things supercedes another countries, we have no more rights than that country, the agression is only legal because we and other nations say it is, I bet there's many other nations who think it is just as much illegal and we should not be getting involved

Define tin foil hat crew? People who don't blindly accept what they are fed, but think instead?

NO, people who may have a narrow minded bigotted view but who cannot understand that others do not share their paranoia and disbelief, and have to resort to calling them blind as some sort of justification to make their own views better and to try to put down others views.

So 10 countries out of 194 voted for it so I think you will find your statement wrong

And if it's nothing to do with oil when are the 10 super countries going in to Bahrain, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia?

So those people resort to calling them the tin hat brigade and so the circle of ass hattery is complete and continues to turn.

It is obvious that Gadaffi's days are number, so who takes control after him, what if it is someone else that the west doesn't like?

Or will we just install a puppet, like in Iraq and Afghanistan?

/confused

They said they used 112 tomahawk missiles. According to a US Navy fact website each costs $569,000. So if you have 112 missiles at that cost, £39million :S Can't be right?

My my you clearly know very little about the situation right now.

Those countries harbour support from neighbouring arab countries. Attacking any one of them would lead to serious problems and risk some terrible confrontations.

Gaddafi on the other hand has pretty much isolated himself from support from other countries. Nobody will come to help Gaddafi.

On top of all that the situation in Libya is more brutal. He is attacking civilians in the cities harbouring rebels as well as attacking the rebels.

My statement isn't wrong at all.

We voted in our government, our governments made the decision that the collective decision of a UN was one worth upholding. Thus we have decided that the UN can make decisions for us. Its perfectly in line with everything i said.

No not all members vote, its done in this case by the security council.

This may help you educate yourself before you make yourself look an even greater fool

excellent news

this is exactly the sort of thing the UN is for
protecting those people who are getting smushed into a paste

some of you people are so synical and jaded about oil and not sticking our noses in

"All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing"

this will level the playing field in Libya, the resolution would allow shooting down planes as well as engaging ground targets like tanks
