Anyone else tried this?

http://uk.xboxlive.ign.com/articles/115/1156323p1.html

I'm really enjoying it and wanted something to fill the void left by 1 v's 100. Another game with live events at certain times etc.

Has a decent xp levelling system and unlockables as you level up so the SP doesn't become boring.

Also ranked and unranked MP.

I will give the live events a go tonight see how they are.

:)

Yeah it does seem pretty good :P The one thing i dont particularly like is that, if you're messing about with friends, and since it's not real money, you all tend to go all in a lot, but if you go bankrupt and have to buy back in you dont earn XP for 5 rounds :(. And since almost every hand seems to involve someone shouting "All In!!!!" I never earn any XP lol.

Pretty sure that's a stupid gripe to have :P But i don't like the idea of not earning XP cuz we're messing around a bit.

Otherwise though a really good game and well worth the points just to have a nice easy game to play whilst chatting to friends.

Try playing ranked games and have your friends join in, I just tried one it was very good. As with most of the free poker games let the all in bandits burn out in the first round and pick them off only if you have a excellent hand.

I really like it, works well. It's pretty fast has plenty to keep you amused and I can't wait to try out the tournies later tonight :)

Cheers for posting that I saw the preview, but didn't make note of the name. I wanted to mention it to a couple of people.

Really enjoyed the live tournament games. I will be doing them again tommorow :)

I got the hot hand achievement but didn't get near a gold medal.

Had a few games last night and it's good fun but still wish they never dropped 1 vs 100

Yeah me too, what they should have done was charge 10MSP per play and upped the prize fund. It would have cut down on the strain and given everyone else that wasn't in the 100 somethign to aim for.

I thought I read somewhere it was going to be free?

It is to play the tournies, a free update. The season updates wil be free as well. You have to buy the main game though but I think that's fair enough as they couldn't cope with the strain of 1v100 being free.

Again i would like them to charge a nominal fee each 30 min game, something like 10msp and the winner on each table gets a cut. It would stop the first hand all inners and add an edge to the game.

I really like it though and will be giving it more time, especially as the 360 is really lacking anythign half decent to play.

Oh right. I'd consider getting this to play occasionally if there were prizes to play for.
Otherwise, playing at an online poke site seems much better, with more games to play, probably better options, easier to check hand histories, etc.
Having your xbox avatar at the table would be fun for a bit though.

I had a quick go but still can't get my head around raising and calling.

What is there to get your head around?

I have this and it's quite fun, best thing is screwing idiots over that go all in with a pair of 2's :p

I was interested in this until I found out there weren't going to be any 'real' prizes..

Presume they have to be careful though as they can't do anything classed as proper 'betting', as there are too many under 18's on Live.

Not really, you enter your age when you sign up to xbox live. Also it's virtual money, there's no real betting involved as you can't lose out.

Under 18's weren't allowed to play 1vs100 iirc.

I call BS on the SP in this it seems if you fold an AI player with a super weak hand wins without being challenged, but you can't get away with it and being dealt a pair of Jacks is the kiss of death the AI either gets a straight on a nothing hand or full house so far.
