Get a clue and read what the resolution allows us to do and what they Arab nations agreed to.

The resolution is not just a no fly zone.

Demanding an immediate ceasefire in Libya, including an end to the current attacks against civilians, which it said might constitute “crimes against humanity”, the Security Council this evening imposed a ban on all flights in the country’s airspace — a no-fly zone — and tightened sanctions on the Qadhafi regime and its supporters.

Adopting resolution 1973 (2011) by a vote of 10 in favour to none against, with 5 abstentions (Brazil, China, Germany, India, Russian Federation), the Council authorized Member States, acting nationally or through regional organizations or arrangements, to take all necessary measures to protect civilians under threat of attack in the country, including Benghazi, while excluding a foreign occupation force of any form on any part of Libyan territory — requesting them to immediately inform the Secretary-General of such measures.

I know exactly what it says and just because some nations got together and ok'd it doesnt mean its right and ok

In which case you don't agree to any action full stop, if you understand what the res states then you wouldn't be objecting to how we are inforcing it.

So which is it?

There isn't exactly a higher power to answer to other than the collective governments of those nations who have ok'd it, so unless you want to pointlessly philosophize over ethics and morality, then it does make it right and ok.

The resolution is not just a no fly zone.

What about the rebel military units then??

Will they be allowed to attack the territory under the control of Gaddafi?

Don't suppose it has killed Gadaffi, it would do the whole word good if he just died right about now.

Gadaffi will be hiden away in a bomb shelter in an underground military bunker, or he will be out of the country already, his last 'address' to his people was via phone and i don't think the state media have seen him for 36 hours.

Airstrike has destroyed administration building at gaddafi residence in tripoli \o/

See that is ridiculous - why have they attacked that building? It isn't anything to do with the no-fly zone or preventing attacks on civilians which is the only mandate the coalition have got.

Getting rid of gaddafi wont solve a lot.

Years of cival war will follow this action just like in iraq. Seems we learn nothing from past wars.

Given the chance rebel militia will attack and kill pro gaddafi supporters, in return pro gaddafi supporters will retaliate and it will continue for years regardless of what puppet leader the yanks put in charge if gaddafi is killed

Then they didn't read the Resolution.

Who says they got the opportunity? apart from Lebanon none of the Arab nations are members of the UN security council.

The Arab league simply called for a UN resolution on a no fly zone and obviously now are making it clear they don't agree with all the 'surprises' that western powers have hidden in with the UN resolution enabling them to expand it into a much broader preemptive bombing campaign.
