Do any of you live with symptoms the doctors can't diagnose?

You lot need to visit the Princeton-Plainsboro.....

So that the most inept group of doctors in the world can destroy your liver, kidneys, heart, pop an eye, pop a testicle, inject you with a wide range of potent and possibly lethal drugs before realising that they never ran an allergy panel.

I hate house.

I personally have horrid symptoms that the doctors can't diagnose :(

1. Stain on my tongue that is just always there and gets worse throughout the day.

2. Mucus build up

3. Burning sensation on face when I get anxious!

How about you, have you ever been to the doctors for something so many times and have yet to have found the answer?

I've been around 15 times for the above and they are putting it down to health anxiety :\

The mucus build up will be related to a food sensitivity.

I get outbreaks of mouth ulcers pretty much every other month. Got 3 massive ones inside my lower lip at the mo, with a couple on my tongue. In Jan I had 24 ulcers, all dotted around my tongue and throat. Made talking and eating absolute agony :(

Been to the docs god knows how many times. Usually get sent for a blood test which inevitably comes back clear and they do **** all else after that.

Immune system problems? mouth ulcers are excacerbated when in poor diet.

You could buy something called IGLOO or IGLU (equivalent to bonjella but much-much better and actually heals the ulcer instead of just helping with the pain + it doesn't sting when you apply it)

Constant pain in one testicle. They've even cut me open and had a look - nothing amiss. Could be much worse - nearly all of the time I can set aside the pain and function normally.

Got a bundle of things wrong with me at the moment and no diagnosis, but that's largely down to my test results disappearing somewhere. Thyroid malfunctioning is pencilled in, but without test results the doc's making educated guesses based on most probable causes. Not my idea of a fun time - it could be other things, some of which are fatal. I'd rather like to know.

Quite a similar situation to me I guess.

I thought I felt a ridge on the actual body of the testicle and I was sure it wasn't the epididymis. Went to the doctor who sent me for an ultrasound scan, the ultrasound scan came back showing a dark shadow on it and the radioligist didn't know what it was.

I was reffered for an 'urgent' uroligist appointment. Uroligist said he didn't think it was anything nasty. Had tumor marker blood tests taken just for reassurance, they came back negative.

I was sent for a more detailed scan and reffered to a different uroligist/radioligist who were great. The detailed scan showed the same shadow but the uroligist and radioligist seem to think it's damage that could have happened at any time. However I can't even remember getting hit in them to the point of one of them getting damaged!

I was sent for a follow up 3 month scan to see if there were any changes, which I had a few days ago. Turned out there were no changes on the scan and I was told to go back for another scan if I noticed any of the usual signs, swelling, increase in firmness etc.

I must admit it still worrys me to the point of getting very anxious about it, I think it's because I've read to much into it, but I have to keep telling myself that I've been reassured by the doctors and if they didn't think it was anything nasty they wouldn't just discharge me like that. :)

Twitces, fasciculations, tremors, restless legs which are just hell, sometimes I have to go to bed because there is simply nothing else I can do, amazingly I am mild, because some people can't get to sleep with it but going to bed alleviates it for me.

I've had two DVT's in the last three years, one in each leg. Both times right at the top of my thigh, which gave me a leg like an elephant.

I don't have any risk factors for DVT and all blood tests and scans have come back normal.

I'm on Warfarin permanantly now so hopefully it won't happen again.

Is that their kind way of telling you that you have a mental illness?
You then start a thread about your symptoms on a computer forum which bans medical threads.

Tongue, take zinc supplements and stop fapping so much.
Anyway, mucus... dustmite allergy?

As for the OP.
All my joints click, and crack, sometimes they virtually lock, and are intensely sore. Aparently, nothing can be done for that, something to do with hyperflexible tendons.

there are a few clinical signs/conditions that make my heart sink when i see patients with them
- dark glasses on (aka tinted speculopathy)
- any form of soft collar on
- fibromyalgia
- ME
- if they already attend the Pain Clinic
-rings on every finger
- my (nutitritionist/herbalist/chiropracter/midwife/gillian mckeith) thinks i have too much candeeeda, can you do a blood test?

Just a quick note:

Just read you're on Warfarin (as am I), but what most of the docs don't know is that you must make sure never to take the swine flu vaccine or you will bleed to death. I also have had two dvt's and am on it for life, so you have to watch what meds interact with the Warfarin and do these checks yourself too.

Omg, :D Brilliant. Are you a doctor :)

My left ear always feels dulled down and sometimes when i swollow it feels like im underwater for a while. For some reason the pressure in my ear is irregular. I also suffer from mucus build up in my throat & nose. Another thing that isnt really 'unsolved' as I havent been to docs about it - I sometimes wake up with dried blood in my nose but never does it leave my nose.

constant ache after my gallbladder was removed last year, still there.

Spasm feelings in the stomach area after a ERCP (camera down the throat, then into the large intestine, then back up the bile duct to the liver...for like a hour or more!), had three now but that first one has done something....and just so they can find what they did, im due another ercp in 2 weeks.

Still recovering from bilary periotonitis after like 4 months now, feels like im never getting better, thanks docs for leaving two stone sin my bile duct causing the worst pain i have ever had (thought a gall stone was painfull, it was nothing to periotonitis) and 4 op's and 4 weeks in hospital later!

They did get 57 stones out of my gallbladder, they would not let me keep them :(
