List your top 10 pro gamers

Getting good at a game:

Specialise in 1 particular game that you know is available at Tournaments like iSeries and Enemdy and places like this.

After that release some YouTube videos of your gaming to get a bit noticed, but the way to get noticed to become a Pro is play against them in tournaments.

Getting good at a game is the easy part, getting spotted is the hardest.

Not really, the mindset to be good as well as just natural ability plays too big a role. Just the way people approach a game in their own heads will determine how good they will ever be at any game they ever play.

Just playing 1 game 10 hours a day for a year probably won't make you that much better at it, especially playing publics. You might develop much better knowledge of timings on maps but someone with a rough idea of the maps who can second guess your every move is going to walk all over you consistently.

Plus I'm not familiar with any pro player who become 'noticed' from just making the odd vid on youtube. What they will have done is play in teams, become familiar with the circles of players at the absolute top skill bracket of competitive play and if they had the ability to play at that level become part of that scene through random scrims or being in a decent enough team. From there if you are insanely good, with the word of mouth generated then a manager of a pro team is sure to notice you.

Dont follow any particular players as its not my scene but i dont mind the odd decent frag movie :)

think this is the best-done one i have seen yet.

Although for a lot of these players you could say were in the right place at the right time as with many of these movies their "opponents" dont seem to really be trying if you know what i mean....

I have said to get a "bit" noticed i havent said to get sponsored for it.

And http://www.team-dignitas.net/

These have seperate teams for different games.

Ofcourse playing the same game will make you vbetter at it if you learn what you need to improve on.

Why do you think professional footballers/crickets/tennis players train everyday at the same thing it is to get better.

I also have a few emails from diginitas regarding this issue

The best way is to specialise in a game and play tournaments, watch and learn what better players do and how they play.

ODEE

[email protected] is the email if you would like to ask about it, these guys seem to give good feedback.

One of the things to remember with frag movies though is this: they are either some guy stamping on nabs on a public server, in which it is trash, or they are some guy stamping on amazing players in matches, in which woawtf.

People are too quick to see a vid of a pro player get 3-4 kills in a row and think 'so what, I can do that', what they neglect to think about is at that level of play, any one of those 3-4 players he just killed would go 1000-0 on them and anyone from their pub stomping clan without trying.

Find a lot of these videos on YouTube very suspect. There may be loads that are genuine but some are just too good to be genuine.

The top pro gamer that I idolise is me. :)

Before StarCraft 2, I didn't know any, aside from that f3t4l1ty *****. Now I can name a few, but I certainly don't idolise or even consider myself a fan at all.
