No love from EK for 6950, should I just get GTX480

This thread is seriously making me laugh. I sure hope to god we're not all getting trolled because I would feel bad for ages if we were.

Very much agreed, you need to be incredibly vain and shallow to be bothered by such a thing, I can only assume OP doesn't know April 1st is 10 days away.

:confused::eek::):D
I am serious, it has to be right, nothing wrong with that, well for me anyway, I understand some people are not bothered what things inside look like but I am, sorry if this offends:)

This has got to be one of the most ridiculous threads i have ever come across in hardware. You are moaning about some writing on a block that you won't even see, on a card you have'nt even got yet. Either get a 6970, in which case everything will match up and be fine, get a different card altogether, or get a block with no writing on it such as the XSPC block.

This is the most bizzare thread I have read in a long time .... up there with the kid whos dad fixed his CPU+ZIF Socket problem with a hammer :p

I think I still got a Athlon64 sticker on the front of my case... but OMG ITS A SANDYBRIDGE SETUP!

Don't be such a crybaby, get a first gen and flash it like 99% of people and you're done. If it doesn't flash then send it back under dsr. I suggest you should also re-evaluate what you think is important if you think the writing on a waterblock on a part you will not be looking at is an issue when buying it.

!!!!! I could understand (a bit) if you had a 6970 and had to put a block saying 6950 on it but really why not just flash the card to a 6970 accept that in effect the card now IS a 6970 and put the damm block on the card.

Get the 480 it will clock up to 900 core under water, nothing AMD have can compete with that, dual GPU crossfire card not included.

The thing is the dual card is included, at the moment(not for much longer probably) Nvidia can't compete with that.
Now that there are more 480's out in the wild, the problems are starting to show.
Take a good look at the Asus 480 and Gigabyte 480 threads before making your mind up.

I would get one of the 14 that got the rendering errors or maybe just the 1 that didn't, seriously I am the most unlucky when it comes to getting the latest free overclock upgrade:(

Nuts! Thread

And for that 14 I'm sure they could fix it by upping volts or lowering clock speed

Only one thing to do now.
flash your 6950 to 6970 buy the Ek 6970 block, Be happy knowing its a 6970 but you didnt pay as much for it and be happy "a water block is not lying to you :P"

Then spend all your money you saved on counseling.

lol, I just like things to be right, maybe I got a little ocd, not sure:)
I am still undecided what to get, I will see what has the best price towards the end of next week and probably go with the best price one

Under water you can put a 6950 to 1000Mhz and further sometimes which matches nicely the 480 at those speeds ;)

1000 6950 core will get nowhere near a 900 core 480, hell if anyone with a 1000 core 6950 wants to put some benchmark results up, I'll do like wise with my 480 at 890 core.
