My new monster

Ultimate chest wig cars these :D, had 92 NA manual and loved it about 12 years ago, very solid and pretty quick, imagine the twin turbo shifts a bit too, have fun and enjoy pretty good price you paid I think aswell.

Added some more pics cos people wanted to see them :) new water pump was fitted on Thursday and ive been having fun with it, don't worry ive already cleaned the floor mats :P next one the list is to get a full service done and get the air con system up and running cos the sun was roasting yesterday lol

Black JZA70 =.

You might struggle to get the A/C done though. Unless converted it'll use R12 Gas which you won't find anybody using as it was outlawed YEARS ago.

R134A (what is mostly used on modern cars) isn't really interchangeable due to the different types of oils used in the systems so you'd be looking at changing the O rings/seals in the system at the very least. I seem to remember that the 'proper' way of converting the system on a 1JZ engine requires the compressor to be changed as well, but I might be wrong.

R49 and RS24 are supposed to be direct replacement gases, but finding people who stock those refrigerants is difficult, and when you do they tend to charge quite a lot (I was quoted £150 for RS24 ).

God these look immense.

Saw one in the flesh a few days ago for the first time - instantly became a dream car!

I don't think people are realising how rare it is to find the 1JZ engined one in any condition, let alone near mint!

Good work there, although if it was me I'd be dropping that waterpump and going down the other route, and fitting a W154 manual box to it. But then I have no qualms about modifying slightly rarer cars, as long as they're not REALLY rare! (I hate auto's too, but then, I guess if I had 1 arm it'd be different...)

When talking about MKIIIs anything that doesn't need to have the rear arches done and the suspension turrets welded up cab be considered to be 'near mint'.

Another problem for these on the market is that a (usually cheaper) Soarer is quite simply just a better car. Same engine, same transmissions , newer and better designed suspension, better interior, similar weight etc. At the end of the day you find yourself paying a bit extra for the slightly Marmite retro styling.

Joshy, as in Joshy that used to be on TD?

True as that is, manual Soarer's with 1JZ's in are more expensive than manual mk3 Supra's with 1JZ's in, but auto Soarers are cheaper. I don't get why, but it's true!

Soarer is bigger and heavier though, really! And harder to shed as much weight from. But he's keeping it stock, so it's irrelevant.

Same one. Nice to see you around!

I think you'd be surprised just how heavy a MKIII really is. Both a Soarer and a MKIII are going to tip the scales at around 1600kg+ :).

Will try and get more pics up asap

Thanks :) im planning on keeping it stock as its quite rare to find a good limited spec one that hasn't been covered in glue and crashed into halfords, besides it may have gone on sale in 1989 but 276 bhp and 268 lb/ft torque aren't exactly baby figures for a daily driver even 22 years later, its enough for me :)

My last 32 GTR was 515bhp and was a daily driver ;)

515BHP daily though London? Your clutch leg must have been the width of a tree and your throttle leg the size of a twig :D.

LOL!

Yeah was a bit of a ******* as it had a twin plate which could be quite snappy especially when it was warm e.g. in traffic. Had a few embarrasing moments!

Im getting a triple plate for the GTR i have now!!!

Can you post some more pics up of that dash! it looks awsome.

hows this, not a great pic but the passenger was holding his iPhone in front of my face lol
