Hi,

How can I ensure my fan(s) are running at full speed - ALWAYS.

I am using Corsair H50 and need to ensure the pump always runs at full speed. I keep telling AI Suite to run the fans at TURBO, every now and then it reports that fan is not running when it is, or it lowers the fan speed down and CPU then reports 83 C within AI Suite.

Bios = 1504.

Cheers.

Connect the pump to the PWR_FAN header as that is not usually a controlled header and will run at full 12v.

I put the pump on the cpu fan header and disable cpu fan control in the bios. It's how I do it with mine and you should get a constant 1400rpm. How have you get your H50 fans setup? Are they powered from the mobo, controller or psu?

I do have a large case fan which is connected to PWR FAN.

The H50 fan is connected to CPU_FAN (as directed by CORSAIR)

The H50 pump is connected to CHA_FAN2

So should I connect PUMP to PWR FAN? and move the LARGE case fan (12 cm) to CHA_FAN2 or even CHA_FAN1.

I want to do the Corsair H50 push pull but maybe I should just connect that to PSU to no voltage throttling?

Ok so now I have the following;-

H50 fan = CPU_FAN
H50 PUMP = PWR_FAN
12cm CASE FAN = CHA_FAN1

Now BIOS Temps show 51c for CPU.

I have disabled all Fan controls in the BIOS for CPU and CASE.

Booting into OS - Loading AI SUITE shows the following;-

CPU = 41C

CPU Fan 1401rpm
Chassis Fan 1 = 0
Chassis Fan 2 = 0
Power Fan = 743rpm

Is this right?

Have you overclocked or otherwise disabled speedstep? Leave the PC to idle for some time then check the temp - you should be looking for low 30's assuming your room is low 20's ambient.

I did overclock using AI Suite - but it failed at 4.97ghz. Since then I have upgraded the BIOS to 1502 and reset default settings. Speedstep shouldn't be disabled I'll go and check.

Ok just reset the BIOS again. Changed boot order. CPU was still set to overclock - arghhh. Changed back to AUTO. Saved. Ensured Speedstep enabled, and fans to DISABLED.

Rebooted into OS and noticed CPU was now 67c - arghhh again. However went into AI SUITE FAN EXPERT - CPU still showed 67C. Both fans still DISABLED. It showed CHASSIS_FAN1 as - 0, which wis incorrect as I can see the fan spinning. Clicked on FAN XPERT tab then back onto SENSOR tab and noticed the CPU suddendly dropped in temp and CHASSIS_FAN1 showed a reading.

Think there is a bug with AI SUITE ?

i hate ai suite always have done, its a right pain in the ass, theres a patch out for it on asus website but i think thats not for your circumstances.

get rid of ai suite and set everything in the bios, then you know its how it should be.

just my 2 cents.

btw when i uninstall ai suite i constantly got nagged in red about this and that not working, i swear il never install that crap again
