do you socialise with work colleagues on your break?

we always try to get out of the office, to avoid just working through lunch, but there's usually a few of us do it, I'm more likely to eat at my desk if it's just me

i only really chat with my boss as sad as that sounds, I spend most of my time out the office so dont really chat to the other people that work here much!

If im on the same shift then yeah. Why wouldnt I? Would have to hate all humans to not like anyone in a buidling of 200 or so. Few that ill keep going to the pub with after I have quit. Weirdo.

I dont mind chatting to my colleagues if they happen to be on break at the same time as me, though I do prefer to eat in silence. Gives me a chance to relax and unwind for a little while.

Depends which office I am in and for which client. As we're contractors I don't really go out to lunch with the clients as they have better things to do I'm sure. If I'm with my colleague though we'll go to the pub or something together.

I'm currently in our actual office but it's only got myself and 2 old miserable biddys that I would hate to lunch with! I got a scorning for tapping my fingers a minute ago. Thanks love, go and fall down some stairs please.

My company provides a communal kitchen area with various kitchen appliances and two TVs. One TV is connected to an aerial and we use it to watch the news / Budget announcements, etc, and the other is connected to an XBOX with four controllers. Although the XBOX is there, it's only my team that uses it. There's also a small sofa suite and various tables and chairs for people to sit and chat, play, watch, etc.

I usually sit at my desk and browse the 'net, go for a walk outside with colleagues or sit in the kitchen. The team usually goes to a pub once or twice a week and I often go with them.

Where I am currently working, we have a 'chill out' area.

Costa Coffee, pool table, ping pong, TV area and babyfoot!

I thought it was a bit cheesy when I started, but it is amazing how much a good game of pool breaks up the afternoon.

I have to get outside every day, but I usually do it with colleagues. Nothing worse than being stuck at a desk for eight hours a day, and having to eat your lunch at it.

Same here - we try and go out for lunch everyday, it helps break up the day.

Really get on well with the people I work with - we go on nights out together and have loads of social outings so lunch and tea time is very chatty. Also every Friday is pub lunch without fail!

Great :)

I go and sit in my car and relax, work colleagues are just that work colleagues. I have no interest in their lives and to sit in a canteen and listen to people moan and groan and back stab isn't my idea of fun.

It seems most peoples social lives revolves around work, which i find very sad.

On the contrary, I think it would be sad if I couldn't enjoy spending time with work colleagues. During the weekdays, I spend about half my 'day' (time awake) with these people. I would prefer to spend that time with people who I would consider friends than [just] "work colleagues".

Have to eat dinner at my desk, work in IT support at an Academy and lunch time is an opportunity for pupils to be a bunch of derps and flood my office with problems whilst teachers use all their hour chilling in the staff room.
