Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

Hi all,

I just had a quick read through the last few posts...I'm not really too up on phones...is it still worth picking one of these up now or is there something better enroute (as in within the next month or so)?

Just follow his instructions on the thread. Just install clockwork mod that installs correct recovery , eneter recovery mode and chose install zip file and find your ROM on your S card and apply.

But I would read up more about it incase something goes wrong.......:)

Doc v9.9.5...XWJS8...damiangto kernel 2.6.32.9 here..overclocked to 1200mhz and -100 uv...running brilliantly

There is a Galaxy II out in the next month or so that improves on the original in every area. Start reading Engadget Mobile
 
i got my htc desire hd yesterday, wonderful piece of kit, was inevitable as my old phone broke, i know the galaxy s2 is coming out 6th may and so is the htc pyramid, im really thinking of selling my phone at the time so i can put towards either the s2 or pyramid, can someone here tell me if its worth it, probly get £280 for the phone at a stark guess, s2 will be £530 so thats 250 extra :/ could have really waited though, old phone was broke.
 
Currently running XWJS8 Froyo 2.2.1, cooked on Doc and Stefunels Rom Kitchen..
Using BUJP5 modem and Hardcore Speedmod K13c - 500hz Kernal...

Had JPU 2.2.1 previously, and this is even better in terms of speed and battery :)
 
Is it ok to root and chuck a custom rom on these phones if they are carrier locked? I've done loads to mine but it's unlocked.

Done a google on it and nothing is conclusive thanks in advance
 
If by carrier locked, you mean the handset can't connect to other networks with the appropriate SIM card in, yes. My phone is locked to 3 but I've got Voodoo kernel and Darky's 9.3 on there.
 
Is there anyway of getting online without a Wifi connection? On my old piece of junk phone that I had 5 years ago I could do it. Surely I can on this phone.. but I see no options. Help meeeee please.
