noob chossing a nvidia card and need help!

hey guys,

ive seen the gtx 480 cards are very low on price at the momment and i have decided to get one but which one ??

ive heard the refrence gives off a lot of heat and very noisy which points me to the gigabyte cards

but ive also heard they are having problems aswell

could anyone give me some more info on this and which card to get ??

The reference one is twice as loud as the gigabyte one and runs significantly hotter. The two main and really only problems with the 480gtx are noise and temperature, which are both fixed on the giagbyte one. Runs extreamly well.
 
The Gigabyte SE is fine, it's the SOC version that a couple of people have had issues with unstable overclocks, although it still wouldn't put me off buying the SOC version.
