Ok, so I am certain that I want rid of my Lotus - an excellent surgical tool but simply too compromised with lack of passenger space and odd finicky reliability issues (paint, stone chips, leaks to name but a few).

Now, I am wanting a 4-5 seater which is powerful, looks decent, very new, decent grip, decent handling and sub £800 insurance (aged 27).

This leaves me with:

BMW 1 series - compromised interior, bad for rear passengers

BMW 3 series - good all round but trying to find desired spec is like blood from a stone, without buying new (being ripped off)

Mitsubishi Evo X - good all round but potentially poor MPG and massive thief target.

Audi S3 - low MPG potentially and dull interior.

Audi S4 - as above.

Any others for consideration?

Why is the interior of an S3 dull?

Someone I work with has one (he is a massive ****head, not that that is relevant) and I've been in it a couple of times. The interior is love, the wheel looks awesome, it just oozes quality in my opinion. Then again, I drive a Clio!

I personally prefer the Audi interior over a BMW.

Does this actually affect anyones purchasing decisions? Of things to worry about statistically that should surely be a low one.

Might bother some, doesn't bother me but then again i live in a good area and have private parking.

Only came to my mind cause the OP marked it as a point against the EVO.

Only other thing i was going to say was about the S4 and timing chains but this is only an issue at 80 - 100k and you have more than enough money to avoid any issues.
