If you do buy hon, avoid matchmaking until you have grasped the basics. You are only allowed to leave 5% of games, or you get branded a "leaver" and are unable to play matchmaking games. You need to either win/lose or concede (all 5 players must agree before 15 minutes, only needs 4/5 after 25 minutes). You can freely leave no-stats games whenever you want, with no penalty.

Recommend people to get this, great game, sometimes a woeful community but great to play with friends and overall probably better than LoL.
 
League of legends is free.

With hon you get everything (all heroes) for $10, you don't need to save up for every new champion release. The only thing you get with ingame coins are skins/models/announcer packs/avatars (purely cosmetic).

I've played both extensively, and they are two sides of the same coin. Just because you play one, it doesn't mean you have to hate the other game.

It's not newbie friendly, and there is a steep learning curve (LoL isn't as steep) but it's well worth it IMO, especially at $10.

You only get nostats games (which are generally full of leavers) but gives you an idea of the game.
 
Wait.. HON Community is even *worse* than LoL's? wow I would need to see that to believe it.

Actually HONs is bad, but LoLs can be worse at times, same with HoN, just less kids on it trolling since its not f2p i guess.


Great game playing with friends, and seems better paced than LoL, played LoL for about 10 games and how slow the heroes moved ****ed me off no end.
 
As has been said They both appeal to different players. HoN is more for the competitive player whereas LoL is aimed more at the casual. I have tried both, and they are both good in there own way.

Saying that i am a HoN player through and through.

If you are new to this type of game either play DoTA if you have WC3 or download LoL to get an idea of the game play for free as its not everyone's cup of tea.
 
HoN is much better than league of legends. LoL is SO, easy and plagued by *****. I bought HoN ages ago before it had all this coin stuff. Me and my housemate played it so much, might give it a whirl this weekend.

Agreed HoN is much more difficult and has a steep learning curve.

I wish they'd make smurf accounts and stats resets cheaper =<

Legionnaire - Updated the Taunt so that it will function properly in duplicate hero mode

Pandamonium - Fixed Flick from triggering stuff like Corrupted Disciple's Static Discharge twice

Pharaoh - Wall of Mummies grab radius increased by 5 * This is a fix to the cornercase of someone being caught inside of the mummies but not grabbed - Made his Tormented Soul un-selectable so you cant tab to them

Pollywog Priest - Fixed his alt avatar not playing the cast sound on his Tongue Tied

Puppet Master - Fixed a very small bug that didn't give Whiplash a timer when Puppet Master died with 1 charge on it - Fixed Voodoo Puppet to give bloodlusts and assists correctly

Rampage - Stampede magic immunity now take place when charges are 4 instead of 5

Soul Reaper - Fixed a majority of cases of his aura getting around Unbreakable

Soulstealer - Removed the channeling bar from his ultimate for now, we will fix it and re-add it later

Removing the 00:00 minute rune is a nice change.
