I have a custom made titanium 4" pipe on my GTR. Can pick it up with two fingers probably weighs less than a 1KG and sounds insane.

Actually, I think the gain was on the M3, not the 335i.

Either way, it is pretty impressive, but then for the price it bloody well should be

exhaust you can usually get away with providing your dealer knows and understands you. There is grounds for both rejecting and accepting a warranty claim in the small print. Which they do is up to the dealer.

I know right? Thank god while looking through the packing material I found that they'd used these parts to pad out the exhaust tips.

The general understanding here is that if they can attribute the part to causing the failure of whatever died then yes, warranty void. I'm sticking to very conserative mods with this one because I want to protect myself from that. About the worst thing they can void my warranty on in this instance is an O2 sensor or an exhaust hanger, I'm in no danger of losing any warranty on the engine or any other part of the car at all.

Will the tip get that cool blue colour once it has been through a few heat cycles or will that only happen around the cat?

The outer tip, not so much, but inside it will.

If you want that look just apply a bit of gentle heat using a bluetorch
