£500 Gaming rig!

Hello all,

I've got approximately £500 to spend on everything but a monitor, keyboard, mouse, mat, speakers and OS.

It needs to have a decent amount of storage (will be lots of music / video), quality sound and room for upgrading in the future.

Any ideas OcUK?
 
This is the best you can get for ~£500 with an i5 2500K. Dropping to a Phenom II X4 system can save you up to £160 if you can't stretch this far, though.

P67 you can overclock no onbaord graphics

H67 no overclocking has on board graphics

H61 new budget intel chipset no idea on specs

Depends on what you intend to do.

No point opting for a K series chip if you go with an H series Board
 
P67 = overclocking enabled, onboard video disabled
H67 = overclocking disabled, onboard video enabled
H61 = some kind of cheap version of the H67

Basically, you want the P67.
 
OcUK made a deal with Sapphire.

It is a card that's £50-60 more expensive :p They normally sell for £150-£160.

Best card in it's price range of >£175 and it desroys everything at it's pre-order price og £107
 
So it's not staying that price for long? :eek:

I'd better snap one up. So it's better than a GTX 460 768mb and could I use it with a Phenom II 955 cpu?
