March in London on the 26th?

Yes because making the Police service spend even more money they don't have dealing with a bunch of people throwing a tantrum is exactly how to combat the cuts.

Good one socialists. Again.

Well, it might not be an issue as about 400 officers have currently refused to police the march with more "defecting" by the minute, so it might cost nothing in the end!

And 6:30? My train leaves then! :p

The Union's leaving from 'ere have an entire train to themselves :)

We are all going on loads of coaches and apparently they're leaving at 7.30 am, so up at 6.30 to get there.

6.30 should only exist as a time to get in to bed after a night out, not up for a day :p

Where are you leaving from? I know my PCS branch have an entire carriage to themselves and they are leaving from Preston around the same time.

I'm already down here - been doing a reccy with colleagues, noting any barriers going up and plotting them via GPS on Google maps for use by the marchers/protesters. Had a few good chats with the Police so far - all seems quite jovial and light hearted atm - even persuaded one to phone in sick tomorrow (he said he'd join us if he was allowed to).

Any water cannon spotted yet?

Leicester City Centre.

I'm not sure how many coaches but lots as far as I know, so many one of the unions hired an entire train to run there and back :p

It's going to be such a long day, I don't mind the early start, I just don't want to be trapped in London until too late.

Yeah - PCS has six trains going down.

Edinburgh, Newcasle, Glasgow, Preston, Manchester and Bristol.

Haha, no. But as I'm a dirty, lazy, socialist union rep I could probably do with a good wash! Must remember to take the Lynx shower gel with me atm.

Quite surprised, only spotted a few barriers on the route so far - mainly centred around Whitehall/Downing street and Trafalgar square. Going to keep recce'ing until about 1am then go out at daybreak again.

Wish someone like the Taxpayers alliance would arrange a counter march.

Yeah, that'd be a HUGE march with all of the 104 active members :-P

I'm going on a train with Unison, they subsidised 100 tickets for members and their family.

As for the barriers... i get the feeling a lot of it will be centred around whatever UK Uncut's 'secret target' is. It's not likely to be corporate i feel, probably political. Good luck anyway, might see you there!
