Up to 100Mb broadband -Get it NOW

Still on 10mb. Argh

Might upgrade to 30mb. Currently pay £25 a month for 10mb. Only £28 for 30mb

From what I've read, wireless is almost always a problem, but with wired it is sometimes OK and sometimes not. Depends on how good the engineer is who installs it in terms of getting the line levels right (non-technical term). Seems that the Superhub is far more sensitive to the line attenuation/noise settings or something than the old separate modems were. Someone else can probably advise better than me...

Wireless will never be a good connection if you have several wireless devices, ethernet ***! No issues yet with my superhub, albeit its not been long, but I dont use wireless, will let you guys know if I get any issues.

Quick question : I currently have 50mb and wouldn't mind upgrading when they finally get to my corner of the world.

However, I am happy with my hardware setup (Virgin modem and Netgear WNDR3700 router).

Is there anything that states I MUST take the new Superhub if I want the upgrade?

Cheers,

PC.

Yeah its totally pointless really, 20 was enough, its funny how they market these speeds, there is no real reason for having this kind of bandwidth. It's going to take several years, until anything close to 100mb is actually needed for any kind of content that would require a 100mb connection

It is ample for general browsing and downloading, however higher broadband speeds allows a completely different market to emerge with IPTV and other OTTTV services finally being viable in the UK.

In the UK, you can only take proper subscription TV from one of two sources - Virgin CATV or Sky. Having an independent delivery mechanism (broadband) will allow for competing and new TV technology companies to be established in the mainstream.

Consider that other European countries are planning to release Gig to the home in the near future, for this very reason.

blimey 100 meg is crazy, not sure what use this would be for regular ghome users, possibly a great solution for internet cafe owners or small businesses.

I'm on 8meg now, considering a 20meg connection.

Yeah very true. I am on L 10 Meg as it fastest enough don't need 30, 50 or 100 what the point ?

There is no need for faster than about 20mb imo, I'm just impatient.

We are a long way off to have content that actually warrents and demands faster speeds, sure its nice to have the technology to allow for these things. However mobile broadband and crap copper lines, means that they still have to design content with lower bandwidth in mind
