Is it worth going from a GTX460 to a HD5870?
Have looked at anandtech comparison charts and seen an improvement on most of the areas (apart from tessalation) but this was on a stock GTX460(my 460 is over clocked to 860/1900 on a slight voltage bump)

What sort of money are you looking to spend?

At you overclock compared to a stock 5870 I am not sure you would see drastic enough changes to warrant a change...

yep so much choice but so little cash! Would love to get a 6950 and unlock it but cant stretch that much. Also I want to put the GPU under water as well, my 460 is non reference so I cant do it with gigabyte gtx 460. I have my eye on a 5870 that can be put under water, but wanted to find out if I am just bitten by the upgrade bug!

you'll be lucky to get £150 for your 460 card now mate considering the 480's are £190. You'll be looking at £120 or so for the card max

I just sold mine a few weeks ago for £90 mate, not that expensive to get one these days. Have a look at the 560TI SOC edition, real bang for buck card imo better than 5870.

I'd agree with this guy :)

I've had both the 460 and the 5870 and when both oc'd i felt the difference was circa 20%

err no im not expecting 150, just 100 as said in post #3!
Looking at 560ti soc now. but is it reference pcb? can i put it under water?
