I have found a Ford Fiesta Zetec in Black (10 plate). It is the sexiest car i have seen and want it badly. Only 5000 miles on the clock and they only want £8000. This seems to good to be true especially from a dealer. What you reckon?

Well if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is. It would most likely need work done, possibly something not immediately noticeable and then if you took it back to the dealer they would say "well it was a cheap price for a reason."

withing looking it up 8k for a middle of the range mums shopping car sounds about right?

Why you'd spend 8k on something so dull and slow is another matter but whatever floats your boat!

Parkers price guide doesn't list a 10 reg Fiesta for some reason, but the 59 reg 1.25 zetec comes up as £8,600 for a franchised dealer price, so that £8K is cheap but not amazingly so.

How long before the posts telling him he could get a 5-10 year old sports saloon of some description for that type of money, when in reality he wants a simple nearly new hatchback?

lol, don't buy a Fiesta, you want a Mk3 Mondeo and to pocket the change, or a mint E46 3 series. Much better cars, very good for wafting up and down the motorway and 100% reliable. New cars are rubbish.

Is the 1.25 in the current Fiestas still the 'nippy' Yamaha block from Mk4 days? If so it must be very sluggish in the modern heavy bodyshells.

I lol'ed. Very true however.

But it is not true at all, is it?

I expect this 'Motors says If it ain't a Mondeo or BMW it is rubbish' pap from trolls and people wanting to have a dig. It is slightly worrying to see it coming from a 'Don'...

Exactly my thoughts. Isn't this the same don that got publicly dressed down by gibbo for making an out of order comment in a recent motors thread? It would be nice if the broader mod team would get a grip of these trolls, after all motors does need its moderation tightening up - apparantly.
