Suggestions for SOC 480

Earlier this week, after about a year of looking at these forums, I bought my first PC build in 10 years. Easy enought to put together. Everything seemed fine, until I decided to test some games on it!

I bought the Gigabyte 480 SOC, along with a 1000w coolermaster psu, with up to 82amps on a single rail. I am running windows 7 64bit, with a 1920x1080 display.

On crysis I get shed loads of green and red artifacts, little flashing dots. I also get black tearing lines as well.

Other games are the same, albeit not quite as bad.

I have reconnected the card and the power supply. Have the latest drivers and direct x, windows is updated. Have tried vsync on and off, and run the graphics card from two cables to the psu, and with one and a splitter.

I have tried absolutely everything I can think of. Hopefully, someone out there who knows a bit more than me will suggest something I can try next!!!

Sounds like the VRAM on its shot (some people have concerns about the cooling on the memory chips - apparently the interfacing isn't covering properly on some of them) probably an RMA deal.

I'm a bit dissapointed personally I thought gigabyte were better than this.

Card obviously isn't stable at its stock OC settings. I'd suggest RMA'ing it direct to Gigabyte for a working card (as OCUK don't seem to be picking up the problems with the SOC's).

OR

Return it to OCUK under DSR and get a different GPU.

Thank you for all the quick replies. I dropped the core to 770 and initially crysis was fine. However, after about 20 mins of gaming I got loads of white artifacts. Clearly, the card is not happy. It's just a shame as this is my first ever build, and I knew something would go wrong with it! However, on the Gigabyte OC guru it doesn't show the voltage the card is running at, and the fan, despite being on auto, never goes above 48%.

Given I have had the card for about 10 days, who would I return it to?
