yesterday got a 480 gtx and tried some games, did a benchmark of gta 4 max settings at 1080 and it was 55fps which was fine. Messed about with with crysis max setting for 10 min was fine and so was metro. Later that day i played team fortress 2 max settings got between 50 - 120 fps (mostly 60ish). After 20 min i got a blue screen of death. After my pc restarted i played again this time after about 2 hours it happened again (during which my gfx card temp never went over 75).

Any ideas?

my specs

q6600 oc'd to 3.05ghz
4 gig ram
pc power & cooling 610w psu
480 gtx with 266.58_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english_whql driver
windows pro x64

Also what would you recommend me to use to test my gfx card to make sure my psu can handle it and the temps are fine?

Your psu is probably the cause as it's not powerful enough. You have an oc on your q6600 and the 480 will use an awful lot of juice too.
Which gigabyte one is it?
Loop Heaven benchmark and see if it's stable.

but it doesn't sound like a decent branded psu ?

what make is the psu.

also, what message do you get on the blue screen

,thxs for the help so far

checked for abit ip35 pro xe p35 and its not there. I'm probly going to run heaven for 1 hour and if its fine after that, i'll chalk it up to a driver issue and try another one.
