Is this possible?

Power issues aside there would also be a cabling issue - there are only two 6+2 pin power cables supplied with it so it would be using 2x( 2-4 molex -> 6 pin) adapters?

I've just bought one of those xfx 6950s on deal with plans to go crossfire in the future. I've noticed that they can unlock to 6970 shaders however only the REF1 cards do this, if the 2nd 6950 was REF2 would I have to reroll the 1st 6950s BIOS back to the original to get crossfire to work?

My PCI-Express ports are right by each other so that the front cards back would pretty much be right up against the front of the back card, would this cause airflow/heating issues?

all i know is a 6950 crossfire system will be using about about 600w under load, 620w psu is really pushing it, esp if you plan to unlock, i would say for crossfire you need a 700w psu. I got 750 just for the extra headroom.

The HX620 comes with 2 pcie cables but each cables has 2 6+2 connectors.
So in total it has 4 pcie 6+2 connectors.Enough to power 2 cards in crossfire.Powering 2 6950 is another matter though.
If your psu does not come with said cables you can request some from corsair and they will send you the cables for free.

Since people already answer the cable enquiry, I will talk about the power part.

Your HX620W would probably just barely able to cope with a system with a pair of 6950 at stock speed in Crossfire, but a pair of 6950 unlock to 6970...no, just no...as a single 6970 itself consume up to 298W max according to techpowerup.
