March in London on the 26th?

Cast, you know what was REALLY funny, I met two very militant grannies on my wander and they both looked near death (from the walk not just 'cause they're old) and I said "You should 'ave them little electronic buggies"

I thought of the golf buggy conversation and imagined driving superman through london in one.

In all seriousness, the two old ladies would have charged the police / downing street had they had something that big. No joke.

Lol. I can just picture Militant Grannies in armoured mobility buggies...

Could be that you're not saying it properly but I suspect he's just very selective in what he wants to hear.

Well, you know me, it's not as if I don't say the same thing a hundred different ways.....so I'd go with the latter.;)

Which is the fundamental difference between you and Super, he doesn't believe that you are "worth" more. Everyone is equal, the person working 50 hours a week and the person doing nothing. In his world everyone just magically gets what they need and no one has to work for it. He sees Cuba as some sort of utopia for Marx's sake!

That's Communism for you and that's why Communism can't ever work. Two words: human nature. The man working all hours in a factory wants the same wage as the world's top brain surgeon but the opposite certainly isn't true. People cannot be equal because people are not equal. We are too diverse, there is proof everywhere.

Communism is a dream, and always will be a dream. Communists talk of the 'world revolution' which will never come. It's just a fantasy. So many lefties swear that we're closer then ever but this has been said for decades and it will not change. All the angry teenagers see revolution as the answer because, rather than healing the wound and understanding the problem they want the quicker fix of throwing our the patient altogether.

These people are always the same. They always want revolution, they always want to overturn the system and they all think they've got the answer and can do it better than every other generation before them.

In time, and experience, they'll get to see that things don't work in the real world like they do in their brains. And it's tiring, boring - and expensive - watching it happen again and again.

Remind me, how many people died again? You suggesting this as such is purely dramatic. Far worse occurs on the streets of Britain every week.

Oh and you quoted me incorrectly.

Yes, yes indeed, I walk down my high street every week to find all the banks have been smashed in and the high street stores vandalised  don't down play the disgusting behaviour of what were essentially a bunch of hoody wearing, acne ridden, snivelling KIDS wanting to cause a nuisance. "Grow up" and "Responsibility" are words that come to mind when I see these fools,

Does he think the Venus Project is a realistic goal humanity should work towards and resources could be practically infinite if scientists just sat around doing experiments without budgets and stuff to constrain them? If so... lol.

The huge and peaceful protest march along Embankment viewed from the London Eye.

From Waterloo Bridge Video

Peaceful protesting in Trafalgar Sq in the day

Join the Kindess Offensive - video of harmless fun in Trafalgar Sq

But Police nearby to protect some buildings from likely grafitti.

"Black Bloc" head up Regent Street breaking away from the main protest march. They have a huge horse and take up a position in front of Top Shop at Piccadilly.

Some officers are targetted with paint, which I find completely unnacceptable. When asked, he said he didn't arrest the offender. In all honesty I'd have probably reacted violently, must be so frustrating for the police in this situation.

1930 - Picaddilly blocked video.
Hundreds of police and police vehicles block the area. Smoke pours down the street and helicopters fly above
.

2200, most of the offenders have moved to Trafalgar Sq leaving a path of destruction.
Fortnum & Mason

Santander & ATMs

We stayed away from Trafalgar Sq at night so no photos Im afraid.

Even Cuba, one of the last bastions of true socialism is having to concede to capitalistic ideology.

Actually no.

They are looking to move away from communism and back towards Socialism (they no longer believe Socialism is simply a transitionary step to communism) and are looking to couple it with Altrustic Capitalist ideology.

To state Cuba have given up on Socialism is simply incorrect.

Not to pick on you specifically but I keep seeing this or variations on this and it seems like somewhat faulty logic. It appears to suggest "either you went on the March or you don't agree with what the marchers were there for"

No it suggests if you weren't there so we cannot know what you think and so cannot act upon it or even begin to assume what you think, all we have are the 200 thousand who did.

they are a tiny percentage and as such we cannot act on that.

Much like if all the people who didn't vote would have voted labour they probably would have won but you can't give them a few extra seats over assumptions and hypotheticals.

I feel ashamed to know an anarchist who went to it :/.
It's funny to hear him complain about university fee's when he is not even going to go to university let alone a top university.

Thing is in protests like this the true fat cats that the protesters are trying to attack are sitting back laughing at them while innocent bank workers are attacked. Im not a big fan of the cuts but smashing up everything in site to try to make a point isnt the way to do things.

We shouldn't have kneejerk reactions anyway, each person at that March has a personal agenda about the cuts, be their jobs on the line, their friends and colleagues jobs at risk, or some kind of service or benefit that affects them directly.

This doesn't mean they shouldn't question why or how the cuts are assessed, but reacting just because a proportion of people who don't really know or care about the entire picture don't want the cuts to affect them would be stupid.

No, and 99.9% of all people there weren't smashing anything up at all; there was a very very small group of anarchists, of other hooligans and general idiots who turn up to every march just because they know they can smash some stuff up & get into a good fight.
The actions of the few should most certainly not invalidate the peaceful and meaningful actions of the many.

Wow, what a very silly article indeed!

I read that.

Was she the same woman who they interviewed "live from behind the police lines" on the BBC late last night?

She was talking **** then as well.

just like the daily fail or torygraph you didnt publish many photos of the actual march, but instead focusses on the minority of trouble makers who broke off and went on the rampage

'cause it's more interesting watching people get beat up by the police then watching people with pretty banners walking a lot?

That is exactly why the 'black block' or anarchists or whatever other name the vandals and petty thugs choose to call themselves have taken the vast majority of the media coverage.

They have only had an extremely negative effect on the main march, which by all accounts was peaceful and well organised.
A lot of people who can't be bothered or genuinely aren't interested in finding out the facts of the march will think that these criminals were acting as a legitimate part of the march, and will tar all 250,000 who turned up with the same brush.
In addition they have simply stolen all the positive coverage the TUC march was getting.
Thirdly, their actions will have cost millions in damage, repairs, clean up, policing and later on will cost the criminal justice system heavily.

Ironic that all they've done is make the economy worse.
