Census - other Religion option?

They government aren't stupid, if the people sorting out the Censuses see Jedi, they'll probably just ignore it and put the results through as blank.

You've got to feel sorry for the saddos putting down Jedi on the census. It was cool the last time but not again guys! This time I put Sith.

i was sorely tempted to put down 'troll' as my religion, but in the end i put no religion, because of that other thread saying it might get more money going to fund religious stuff

Oops forgot about this... Best fill it out and get it posted...

As for Jedi well nearly everyone I have spoken to has put it down, I however will not be!

Jcb33.

It simply gets ignored as part of the statistics. It isn't included in the Religion or No-religion figures. It is the same as if you spoiled your ballot paper, it is simply discarded and as such is a pointless thing to do, you may as well ignore the question as I and some others have done.

Actually, they put in a code for 'Jedi' in the last census because enough people gave that answer. It doesn't mean it's taken as a religion or anything, though.

. In order to claim a person to be religious he'd have to actively partake in it. This includes attending at least fairly regularly.

disagree
If someone believes in a God and more strongly identifies with Christian ideals, then they are a Christian.
Turning up at church doesn't mean anything, it's expected but not a requirement in the bible.
Practically, the UK will normally identify with Christian ideals because of our culture.

Funny how non Christians are so keen on deciding if people are Christian or not, one might think you all have an agenda :)

I selected 'No Religion' because I have no religion. I don't believe in Gods, flying bowls of spaghetti, Jedi's or any of that nonsense so none of the others apply.

No religion != Atheist, it just means you don't follow a religion, so it's not really a step to far at all?

Atheist means that you don't believe in God doesn't it? So it was a step too far because he's agnostic, no sure about there being a God, not a member of an organised religion but not actually a non-believer?
